Provo, Utah Phone 467 County With SATURDAY, OCTOBER There was a total of 147 resident communicable disease cases reported to the state department of health by physicians and local health officers for the week end- ing October 18, 1946. Last week there were 118 cases and for the week last year, 107 cases, The slight increase in commum- cable disease cases this week over last week is due largely to an increase in cheekenpox cases from 24 last week to 46 cases this Seven of these were re- ported from Carbon county. A total of five cases of polio was reported during the week and two of the five are nonresident cases from neighboring states. The three resident cases were reported from Salt Lake City, Moroni and Sunnyside. To date we have had a total of 117 resident polio cases as compared with 218 cases for the same period of time last year. Health officers of Price and Beaver, Box Elder, Cach, Daggett, Duchesne, Emery, Juab, Kane, Piute, Tooele, Uintah and Washington counties report no communicable diseases for their respective areas.
