Hicks, was approved by the Price Junior Chamber of Commerce at its meeting Tuesday evening, and members pledged their full support and cooperation in order to make the 100 per cent effective. In brief, the program contemplates emphasis upon a different subject each month, as follow's: August, water carnival to begin raising funds for a new Price swimming pool next year; September, rural-cit- y promotion as a means of cooperative action in solving common problems and increasing good-wil- l; October, winter sports, with emphasis upon the Mud Springs recreation area facilities for skiing; November, safety promotion, given a weeks attention to each of the various phases; December, the annual Christmas activities; January, public health m its various phases; February, Americanism; March, crime prevention; April, the second annuel Clean Up Paint Up campaign; May, city beautification. Civic education was a subject that came up for considerable discussion Tuesday night, it being expressed as the general opinion that an extensive program to impress upon everyone, particularly chamber members, the need for increased civic consciousness and cooperative civic activity. Members agreed to assist with the whiteway lighting program this evening, Thursday, by distributing the carnival paraphernalia which has been ordered by the city for distribution among the children. Next meeting of the junior chamber will be in conjunction with the senior chamber and the Southeastern Utah Associated Industries, in the city hall next Friday, July 22, Mr. Hicks said.
