While a small attendance was recorded at the regular meeting this week, the various committees were lined up and notified of their duties, with all working towards the success of the venture. National Defense Week will be observed this year from February 12 to February 22, throughout the entire nation, and this section of the state will not be without representation. Joint meetings of civic organizations of both Price and Helper, along with a banquet, radio addresses and other phases, will be included. Arrange-- 1 ments are now being processed for Yes a joint meeting of the Price Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, the local post of the American Legion which has promised its support, the Helper Legionnaires and Rotary club along with other civic and fraternal organizations. Banquet Planned Featured by an elaborate banquet with guest speakers from areas, to be supplemented by local orators, the joint meet will be held at the Price Civilian Conservation Corps camp, the definite date being announced next week. Featured by a musical program in which members of the high school band participated, along with other students, the occasion was accorded considerable honor and its visitors're-garde- d as well satisfied. Under the direction of Miss Esther Reeves, with members of the Carbon county school board and the local Kiwanis club as honored guests, the visitors were ushered through the rooms of the building by student guides while high school faculty members were in attendance to supervise the affair. The band, conducted by E. M. Williams, presented a diversified program of musical numbers, well received. Following the concert, parents of the band students met to determine which division the local musical unit would enter for the coming annual contest in April. The new building itself is of modern structure and lends facilities to relieve a cramped situation which has previously existed.
