Miss Perry will advocate the election elec-tion of Charles E. Hughes as president of the United States, as the woman's party is espousing his candidacy and opposing the reelection re-election of President Wilson. Miss Perry said that the woman's party wnntcd Hughes instead of Wilson because Hughes had declared de-clared himself in favor of an amendment to the federal constitution constitu-tion for national woman's suffrage. Miss Perry is the daughter of an old South Carolina family. "My family regard it as a disgrace for me to get into a political campaign nnd work against the democrats," says Miss Perry. "In the South, you know, the democratic party is the white man's party and republicans arc thought quite impossible. But I think Hint every democratic woman should make this sacrifice this year. President Wilson's attitude on the suffrage question is so unsatisfactory un-satisfactory that I consider it quite proper to campaign for Hughes." Ml.v Perry plans to visit every county In the state to further her Hughes-woman's party propaganda. She is going to start in Kich county.
