Production of soft cod during the week ended July 23d was practically the same as in the preceding seven days. The total output including lignite and that coked at the mines is estimated at 8,242,000 net tons. Preliminary telegraphic reports indicate that loadings on Monday and Tuesday of the week of July 30th amounted to approximately 53,-7cars as against 50,283 on the corresponding days in the pre ceding week. Production of soft during the week ended July 16th amounted to 8,345,000 net tons, a gain of 1,668,000 over that in the five days week preceding. Output in Utah for the week ended July 16th was 77,000 tons. That of Colorado 149,000, New Mexico 42,000 and Wyoming 83,000. All of these figures show gains over the preceding week, except Wyoming, which is a loss of three thousand tons. The production of anthracite during the week ended July 23d is estimated at 1,336,000 net tons, a gain of 39,000 or 3 per cent over the output in the preceding week.
