Last year's (1921) then pawed out. Under the act signed Saturday by President Coolidge there has been made a reduction in revenue which means a lopping off of taxes to the extent of 1387,811,000. The largest item is in the income brackets. Numerous items taxable under last years law are tax free now. In others the law makes marked reductions. Persons having incomes of more, than $5000 may make a tentative return on March 1 ftb, paying of the estimated tax, and then complete the returns May 15th, with readjustments both ways at that time. Some of the socalled nuisance taxes have been wiped out. By conference agreement the admission tax of 10 per cent is retained on admissions of seventy five cents and over. Nineteen major items under tax by the previous law are eliminated from all tax in the measure just enacted. The accompanying table shows the status of items. It is pointed out that the total revenue under the act will depend on how well business holds up. Source of Revenu- e- !
