Griffiths isr Thorps Castle (Tate's football team journeyed to Kenilworth last Sunday and met the fast boys of that camp. There was a good turnout of fans from both places. Kenilworth folks received their reward in witnessing a good and a game. The Castle splendidly Gaters won the toss and elected to play down field. Kenilworth started the ball rolling and by neat imaging their forward line earned the ball into front of the goal, but Simpson with a neat return gave the Gate forwards a nice opfrt unity to score. The front line were eager and they lost some good ehaucea to score. After fifteen minutes play, F. Perkins received a neat mms from the right wing and he sent in an express shot which hit the crossbar and Jack Mills saved with nothing to spare. At this time the Gate buys were having the liest of matters and buffer the sound defense of Kenilworth backs should isve scored. Some give and take play followed in the midfield and once more the Gale boys came away in fine style and after all the forwards had taken part in a combined run, W. Iraig beaded a fine goal, the ball beating J. Hill all tht way. Kenilworth's team did not lose heart and by combined effort got within shooting distance and a scrimmage ensued, but nothing rame of it, although one effort by Ilutterwurth gave the Gatera a fright. The second half started with Kenilworth the aggressors, but the Gate defense was eijbal to the occasion aud immediately after this F. Perkins fastened on and Mills was beaten for a second time. The Kenilworth forwards were jilaving up fine at this time, being finely barked up by theif ialf backs, but A. Mills being in the test of form best them time aud again and away went the frontline of the Gate and again F. Perkins beat Mills with a nice gruundshot. After this the Kenilworth boya came down the field and Butterworth with a raking groundshot beat Hilton. The game ended with the aeore of Castle Gate three and Kenilworth one.
