Attached herewith are copies of two petitions, the signers being of Soldier Summit, Scofield and vicinity which were mailed to the Utah state road commission, and the Utah and Wasatch eounty commissioners, asking for their aid in nuking this road passable. These petitions were signed and mailed during the month of March, when this road was imps sable and now as soon as any rain or snow falls the road is again in very dangerous condition, and it is their desire that the commissioners immediately give aid to this road. The originals, together with signatures of these petitions, are on file with the commercial club here. We ask that you give us a writeup on this in an early issue of your paper. To the Honorable State Road Commiasion, the Utah County Commissioners and the Wasatch Connty Commissioner Gentlemen : We, the undersigned residents, petitioners and taxpayers of Soldier Summit, Utah, n and vicinity, hereby request better road conditions on our public highway Beaver Creek and Detour and between Red Narrows and the month of Spanish Fork Canyon. These roads are impassable at the present time and are in dangeroua condition after advene weather conditions. Carbon higha traveling affirmative team also won unanimously over Uintah high at Vernal, while its home affirmative team was winning over the visiting Uintah team two to one. Carbon leads with a percentage of .750 and Duchesne stands second with .500 and Uintah last with .000. HELPER, April "X. Truckmen of this vieinity have .mpleted details of organisation of an association peculiar to their ealling, which will be known as the Utah Private Trackers' association. 'With the enrollment of five new members at a recent meeting the total membership has been brought to thirty. The organization, composed of private, express and mail track drivers, includes men from Helper, Price, Duchesne, Myton, Vernal, Roosevelt and other Basin points. The articles of association incorporate all matters of mutual benefit to its members. The manifold purposes of tho union include road maintenance; protection of rights and interests of the trackers; promotion of favorable legislation; efficiency of service and a feeling of good will among the members of the tracking occupation. Death claimed Betty Lou, 7 months old daughter of Harold J. and Etta Laiid Minkins, last evening. The babe died at the home of ita parents at Rains, following a brief pneumonia illness.
