Show I Henefer er Boys See Range Management COALVILLE COALVILLE- Range Management 4 H Club from Henefer took look an interesting trip to the Benmore Experiment Ranch near Vernon Utah The trip was made by the boys so that they might get first hand Information Information information mation about the tile management of this desert area Grazing Topic The ranch has hns about acres in it It and Is divided Into various areas so 60 that cattle and sheep might be grazed experimentally There Is close clone grazing fifty fitly per percent percent percent cent grazing and light grazing In close or heavy grazing the animals are allowed to feed this very close to the ground In medium or fifty per cent grazing the animals leave about 60 per oper cent of the forage And In light grazing about 60 0 to 70 per percent percent cent of the plant is left The animals make their great- great eat weight gains on the medium and light light averaging averaging nearly pounds 1 per er day This year the forage and al all plants In this area look good The crested and intermediate wheat grasses are better than they have been for tor years The boys gathered samples of the various range plants and are pressing them so ao that they might later mount them Cool Swim After trekking the dusty roads o or of the Benmore and Valley areas the boys returned to Tooele Too Too- ele and enjoyed a refreshing swim in the Municipal pool They all enjoyed the trip and felt that it was WM very much worthwhile The outing was under the direction dl di of Mrs Minette their 4 H 4 H leader and J.
