Show PAGE A8 MAY 6, SUMMIT COUNTY NEWS 2011 The fourth graders attend the 11th Annual Water Festival at St. Mary's CHERYL OVARD SCN Editor The church was filled with the 457 students, plus teachers and chaperons, 50 presenters and volunteers all excited to participate in the 11th Annual Water Festival! Fourth graders from several Summit County Schools attended the 11th Annual Water Festival at St. Mary's on White Pine Canyon Road on Thursday from 9 am through 2:30 pm. Students were from Parley's Park Elementary, Trailside Elementary, North Summit Elementary, and Soldier Hollow. They were divided into groups and were able to participate with "hand's on" instruction and learning how water works for them, what people can do with water, such as making snow and how irrigation helps crops and vegetation. There were presenters from The Canyons, Mtn. Main St. Heber City, Utah " Macro-Invertebrate Mayhem, and many others who were able to actually have students play games to learn about how the water gets infested by bugs, or taking home some "chocolate Poo" to remind them to pick up after their animals! It was great fun for kids and adults alike, and the hit of the day was, of course, Murdock the Moose!
