LEAVITT KENDALL " TINY" WOOLSTENHULME Card 2 Emma Mills Harding, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-greatgrandmother, friend and “Aunt Emma to all the kids in the neighborhood,” passed peacefully from this life May 24, 2008, at Country Care Assisted Living Center in Farmington. Emma was born Sept. 18, 1910, to Albert Edmund and Martha Wilkinson Mills in Hoytsville. She was a resident of Morgan, and enjoyed having family and friends around her. She married DeWilt Card Hard- ing Aug. 29, 1934, in the Salt Lake Temple. He was her companion and sweetheart for 64 years. DeWilt passed away Dec. 28, 1998. Emma spent her early years in Hoytsville, where she graduated from North Summit High School and later graduated from Brigham Young University, in 1930, as an elementary teacher. She taught grades 1-3 in Hoytsville. She loved children and dedicated herself to giving them a wonderful education. Emma served a mission in the Central States Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in 1932. She made lifelong friends there. Emma and DeWilt operated a dairy farm for 50 plus years. Emma was an excellent “farmer’s wife,” supporting her husband in every way. She was well-known for her weekly batches of fresh bread which she loved sharing with all the neighbors. “Service to others” was her motto. Everyone knew they could depend on her, especially the elderly in every corner of the county. Emma served as both Stake and Ward Relief Society Pres., Primary Pres., and various teaching callings. She was a member of the DUP. Emma is survived by her children, Paul (Joanne), Corvallis, OR; Hazel (Doyle) Hyde, Sandy; Tom (Diane), Layton; Jean (Eldon) Chappell, Las Vegas, NV; Carl, Morgan; Judy (John) Krebs, Kaysville, and Tamara (Brent) Thorpe, Marietta, GA; 28 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, DeWilt, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, 3 grandchildren, SherriLynn, Megan, and Nikala. Emma spent her last four years living at Country Care Assisted Living in Farmington. The family would like to extend their thanks to Greg and all the caregivers who lovingly helped Emma while she was a resident, Applegate Hospice for their excellent care during her final days and the Country Lane Branch of the Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 11 a.m., at the Morgan Stake Center, 355 North 700 East, with viewing 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friends and family may call Friday, May 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Walker Mortuary, 45 West 200 North.
