Friday, the Braves were on top of their game as many qualified to run in the finals the next day. Jenalyn Thiriot started the scoring for the braves by placing in the 1600 m run. Sofia Stephens followed with a fifth place finish in the long jump. Nathan Fowles put the boys into the competition with a fourth place finish in the 1600. The highlight of the Friday meet was the Pole vault. Four athletes cleared the 12 foot mark, setting up an intense jump-off for first place. Colby Richins almost cleared the 12 foot 6 inch bar, but barely knocked it off for fourth place. Wyatt Richins and a athlete from Beaver were the only ones left in the competition. Wyatt cleared 13 feet and was crowned champion, but went on to attempt 13’6”. He barely missed. After Friday, the boys were in second place in the team points and the girls were in fifth. Saturday Jenalyn and Nathan held their own in the 3200 and kept the momentum going. Dallin Donaldson placed high in the long jump and then took 4th place in the 100 m dash matching Sofia’s fourth place 100 m dash finish. Hayley Richins hurdled her way to fourth place in the 100 m hurdles. Holly Bosworth ran her heart out, but missed going under 60 seconds in the 400 m dash by .28 seconds.
