Show Summit County Sheriffs Department Blotter 2: Summit County Dispatch Center assigned 278 calls over the past two weeks and Summit County Deputies woe April . 18-M- ay of those calls. Agency Assist .assigned 131 On May 1, Summit County Deputy and Canine Handler, Alan Siddoway, and canine, Bruno, assisted the Park City Police Department with a search warrant Arson On April 21, a fire was reported at a wood mill in Francis. After investigation, the fire appears to have been set in several different places. This case is currently under investigation by the South Summit Fire. If anyone saw or heard Department. anything, they are encouraged to contact the Summit County 6. Sheriffs Department at 783-435- Burglary Burglary reported in Summit Park in April 23. There was no evidence of forced entry or anything missing. On April 23, a Samak resident discovered their cabin had been burglarized and over $1,200 in valuables were stolen. The burglary occurred sometime between April 9 and April 22. On April 27, another Samak resident reported a burglary in the area. It is unknown of what items are missing at this time. Citizen Dispute On April 24, at approximately 2 a.m., a Kimballs Junction business reported a fight in progress in the parking lot area. After officers arrived and investigated the incident, it was discovered that three males were involved and injuries were minor. One male was charged with assault; male was charged a with obstructing justice, and male was another charged with disorderly conduct. The incident is under investigation at this time by the Summit County Attorney's Office. Domestic Violence Summit County officers responded to four domestic violence odls over the past two weeks. One arrest was made in these incidents, male for intoxthat of a ication. Two of the incidents occurred in Coalville; one .in Pinebrook, and one at Silva Creek Junction. DUI Arrests Summit County Deputies made four DUI arrests over the past two weeks: one in Henefer; one at Rockport; one in Silver Creek Canyon, and one in Echo Canyon. Fatal Traffic Accident On April 22, Summit County Deputies responded to Browns Canyon on report of an accident. The traffic accident claimed the life of a Oakley girl. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was released from the hospital shortly after. Traffic Accidents Summit County officers investigated seven other traffic accidents in the county, including one injury accident at Pinebrook. The other six accidents were in the following areas: Kamas, Kimballs Junction, Ranch, Jeremy Hoytsville, Pinebrook, and one hit and run accident at Kimballs Junction. Sex Offense Summit County Criminal Investigations Department is inves- tigating a sex offense against a child in the Coalville area. Suspicious Incidents Officers investigated 17 reports of suspicious activity throughout the county over the past two weeks. Theft drivers li- cense; eleven, driving under the influence of alcoholdrugs; one defective headlight; one driving without registration or title; one failure to registerexpired registration; one failure to appear traffic; one failure to appear in court; one false personal ID to police officer; one fugitive from justice; seven intoxication; one no insurance; one no registration in the vehicle; one no valid drivers license; two open containers of alcohol in a vehicle; two possession of controlled substance (marijuana); three possession of paraphernalia, and two speeding. The current daily inmate population at the Summit County Jail is 13 inmates.' As of May 2, there have been 196 persons booked into the Summit cones from the Brown's Canyon area; two purses were stolen from a vehicle while parked at Rockport Dam on April 25, and a juvenile was caught shoplifting at Silver Creek on April 25. Automobile Theft A 1982 Chevrolet pickup, S-- 10 blue and white in color, was dis- covered missing from the Kimballs Junction area on April 23. At this time, all four people have been accounted for. The incidents occurred in Summit Park Woodland, Weber Canyon, and the Wasatch National County Jail. Summit County Court Report Third Circuit Court: Gary Royal Johnson, of Echo, date of birth, July 22, 1937, was convicted and . Forest. Vandalism sentenced On April 25, vandalism was discovered on a llama farm in Marion. It appears that a vehicle, possibly a pickup truck, had been in the field pushing a motorized sprinkling system with the bumper portion of the truck. Estimated damages total over $700.
