Heh was bom on Jan. 28, 1976, to Deon and Cordell Ferry. Mitch is the fourth child of six children. His brothers and sisters are Steve, Ryan, Paul, Megan, Angela Robluon Angela Robinson is a 16 year old at North Summit High School who loves to sing, read, listen to music, and especially have fun with : her dog, Lady. Angela's parents are Darwin and Wendy, and she is the second oldest of 2 brothers and 1 sister. She has been in chorus for 2 years, and not only does she have a talent for singing, but she has a talent for playing the piano as well. She walks across the street every day to attend seminary, her favorite and Lisa. NS Wins at State Science Fair Twelve North Summit students traveled to Weber State University with their Science Fair projects to demonstrate and answer questions forjudges in the State Science Fair competition. The firs! day, April 13, was devoted to setting up, demonstrating, and being judged by professional business and military scientists and technicians. On the second day, awards and scholarships were presented to students for their efforts. Honorable mention awards were Rowser, received by Tori Catherine Toole, Brandon McQueen, and Courtney Richins. Excellence awards were received by Girls Softball Sheridan Carlile, eighth grade; Cari Sue Moore, Sheryl Rees, Andrew by Kim Hilton The North Summit Lady Braves played a game against Morgan on Thursday, April, 14. At the conclusion of the awards program, six one year tuition scholarships were awarded, two of the scholarships went to North Summit seniors, Courtney Richins and Jeremy Richins. The participating students are enrolled in classes taught by Mir. Brewer, Mr.Banz, and Mr. Garfield and ranged in topics from botany, to physics, from chemistry to medicine, and from social science to engineering and everything in between. The students are to be commended for their efforts and accomplishments in the State Science Fair this year. 1 Then come the running events. Other top brave finishers were: Troy Richens, second in the 400m, sixth in the 200m dash; Dolby Batt, fifth in the 800m, sixth in the 400m, and Lance Wilde with a sixth in the 800m. Baseball Team Plays on Home Field by Bobby Jenkins The Braves Varsity Baseball Team played the Morgan Trojans on April 12 at North Summits field. The first three innings were dose and exciting as neither team could pull ahead. In the fourth inning, the Braves rallied as Alan Stanford hit a home run bringing in three runs. When the Braves took the field, they held the Trojans with their de IF fense. The Trojans only scored five points as the Braves scored thirteen. Alan Stanford was having a good game hitting and pitching as he pitched the whole game. Morgan had some good hits also but were unable to score on them. Top Brave Sophomore by Catherine Toole The 5 election year for the new student council is just around the comer. Out with the old and in with the new. It's a time for new and exciting ideas. The requirements for being able to run are: a 2.75 GPA, the counselor must verify the students class standing, you must have the signature of 12 students, and the principal must sign your application for the student to officially become a North Summit candidate. All the applications have to be in a week prior to the election. The candidates are allowed to put two posters up during the first week. On Thursday the selection will be narrowed. The candidates give their speeches in front of the student body. Two people out of each category are selected. They are divided into two teams. The purple and the In the past kids would end an extremely large amount of money. This year you are limited to how much you can spend. One day the purple group will give out large candy and the gold small candy and vice versa the next day. This will limit the amount of money spent. The student counsel is selected by the student body. Each student is given a ballet to place their vote on. It is always exciting to see who the new student council is. Track Meet Held by Zachary Casper The North Summit High School Braves track team competed in a track meet on April 13, at Morgan High School. The team had a tough time competing against Morgan, Grantsville, Rich, Wendover, Salt Lake Lutheran, Roland Hall, and Dugway. The competitors had some excellent athletes that pushed the Braves to their fullest potential. In field events Jared Vernon placed third on high jump and fifth on pole vault and Shane Rees with a fifth on high jump and a fifth on long jump. Ryan Wilde added a first in the discus and a second in a javelin. Damon Shuman scored a sixth in the shot put. hobbies Biff Christensen was born on April 19,1979 to Brent and Cindy Nick Bagnell, Colt Hamilton, Terrance Wilson, Kelsey , Robinson, Courtney McQueen, Pete Lym, Skyler Bnrton, with his family and friends,' ing and Eric Bnrton. and With the best Fteestylers in the state turning out in Brigham City, North Summit Yahoos had their work cut out for them. Showing determination, eight out of fourteen of the wrestlers placed in the top six of their divisions. Those placing were Colt (Hamilton, second; Terrance Wilson, sixth; Courtney McQueen, sixth; Kelsey Robinson, third; Nick Bagnell, fourth; Eric Burton, second; Pete Lym, third, and Skyler Burton, second. Those wrestling hard and missing by a few points were Rick Leavitt, Justin Bagnell, Joe Ovard, Kenneth Richens, Shane Meecham, , and Bodie Wilde. The Freestyle coach would like to thank the team and their parents for the time and support that was given freely during the season. Mock Trial Team The North Summit High School Mock Trial Team has done an excellent job this year. The team's first trial was against South Summit. North Summit was the prosecution and South Summit was the defense. The attorneys were: Chad Curtis, Jesse Haws, Chad Duncan, and Robie Willoughby. The witnesses were: Daniel Park, Shane Boyer, and Heather Richins. The case for this year was on a drive by shooting. Even though the team lost the case they won by points from a ' panel of three judges. Jesse Haws and Chad Curtis received best attorneys and Heather Richins received best witness. The team1! next competition war against Park City. This time the team was the defense. The witnesses were: Laura Staley, Heathe ' Richins, and Daniel Park. Again the team came out victorious, but this time they won the case and won by points. Jesse Haws and Chad Curtis received best attorneys and Daniel Park received best witness. His favorite sport is golf which he competes on the school golf team. His favorite subject is English and his favorite teacher is Mr. Jaussi. Some of his past and future achievements are: being oh the Honor Roll in High School, and receiving his Eagle Scout award. His future plans are graduating from high school, then go on a mission, after his mission he would like to attend the University of Utah gradu- ate from there, get a good job, marry the woman of his dreams, settle down, and have a family! Golf team by Bill Rogers One of the new sports for North Summit this year is a golf team. This program was set up to give people who enjoy golf a chance to participate. The coach of thfoam is Dave Anderton. Dave also Oorks at the high school, middle school, and the elementary. The team this year 'consists of Curtis Ovard, Brock Ovard, Corey Jones, lin Black, Chris Woolstenhulrte, Ashley Woolstenhulme, Gary Jenkins, Jeremy Geary, arid Bill Rogers.
