He will be receiving this prestigious award at the Woodland Ward on Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. All relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Barry is 18 years old and a 1992 graduate of South Summit High School. He participated on the swim team, wrestling team, and rodeo team during his school years, serving as rodeo club vice president last year. He is an LDS Seminary graduate, and is presently attending Dixie College in St George, majoring in Automotive Technology. For his Eagle project, Barry designed and built a flagpole for the pavilion area of the Woodland Ward Chapel. This will be beneficial fra the July 4th flag raising ceremony. Scout activities, and parties fra the Ward. He also earned 27 Merit badges on his road to his Eagle honor. Barry Vern Atkinson Atkinson has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, Woodland Troop 170. He is the son of Theil and Bonita Atkinson, of Barry Vern Woodland. Barry and his family would like to thank all of those Merit badge counselors and Scout leaders who have helped him in any way to achieve this honor.
