Show Friday, January 17, 1992 4 I A I the people NOTICE 1992 SOIL CONSERVATION DISTRICT ELECTIONS A Soil Conservation District (SCD) deal with land, water, and related environmental resource conditions. An SCD is governed by a five member board of elected supervisors serving four year terms of office. SCD board piembers give local direction, priority, and support to public programs that enhance and protect our basic natural resources. Board dedsons are made in regular meetings which are open to the public. An election is in progress to fill three positions on each of the state's 39 SCD boards. Candidates have been chosen by a local nominating committee and, in some cases, by citizen petition. Ballots are mailed to principal land managers listed with the Utah Department of Agriculture. Other registered voters may vote by obtaining a ballot request form from their local County Cooperative Extension Service office, the USDA Service Center, the Chairman of the SCD, by writing to the Utah State Soil Conservation Commission, 350 North Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah 84116, or by calling A ballot request must be received in the Commission office by February 3, 1992. There were 300 wrestlers wrestling in the tournament. Our wrestlers did a great job. Lonn Thornton took first place in the 85 arris took first lb. division; place in the 80 lb. division, and Joey Atkinson took third place in the 95 lb. division. On Jan. 25, our wrestlers will wrestle in the State Tournament in Pfcyson. Good luck to all our middle school wrestlers. |
