Whether it's to go on to college or work for a while, a decision must be made. On Jan. 7, 1987, a meeting was held for all seniors and their parents in the North Summit Hioh School Auditorium. Mr. The Braves started falling behind after the first few minutes and trailed the Red Devils throughout the game. In an effort, during the last five minutes, the Braves closed the score from trailing 16 points to within one, but missed the last attempt to take the lead in the last 11 seconds after gaining possession of the ball. Credit should be given this excellent team for the comeback and all outstanding play by members of the team. they must proceed with plans for a new school building. They stated that with an increased student population we will not have nor can we perceive of a way to provide the necessary classroom space to house the number of students currently enrolled in the North Summit school district without drastic adjustments to our school year. In anticipation of dealing with this classroom shortage the School Board has again determ-minethat we need to build a building. The middle school building by fire marshall's mandate will be closed. His date for closing was three years from January 1986. The fire marshall did, however, state that if a building is in process of being built that we would be able to use the existing facilitya until such time as that building was completed. Based upon this, and based upon the need for classroom in space to house our students has board school the the future, set March 3, 1987, as the time to solicit authorization from the the public to build and provide to classroom space necessary house our student population. The projected growth for our school district indicates that in approximately nine (9) years our student population will double. Based upon this and the fact that we currently do not have enough space to house all of our students in the current approved buildings, excluding the middle school building which will be closed, the additional classroom space will need to be constructed. The Board has discussed with Silver Naylor, architects, and Prudcntial-Bachinvestment company, the process for building. They have helped to make a determination of the necessary cost of the building. Studies in the past have indicated that in order to refurbish Braves! The Braves scored the first points of the game, but then hard-fough- t, last-minu- te fell behind and trailed the Cougars. Outstanding effort by the defense during the Cougar's attempt to stall in the last few minutes brought the Braves from a 16 point deficit to a 4 point deficit. The Braves were successful in stealing the ball and creating turnovers several times to enable their scoring opportunities. However, time ran out and they were forced to foul in order to gain possession of the ball. The Cougars capitalized on the free throws and increased their lead to 10 points, thus winning the game. The J.V. boys basketball team lost to the Union Cougars 47 to 57, last Friday night. North Summit was behind most of the game. They tried to make a comeback but fell short by 10 points.
