As the needs of our community change, the shelter feels that educational information will become a more effective method of controlling pet population problems. Fifty to 70 dogs a month pass through our shelter that only has 12 cages. Your help is needed. In the following weeks 1 will be giving pet owners information that can help them play a significant role in the nurturing of a community where animals and our shelter programs are not Written by abused. The County Animal Control program as we know it today, was begun to protect livestock from being killed by stray dogs. These dogs, left to roam in our wooded areas, came from unwanted litters and unsupervised domestic pets.
