Show The Summit County Bee Coalville, UT 84017 'Friday, May 25, 1984 3A Open House Held for Senior Girls The Coalville Business and Professional Women's Gub held their annual Open House in honor of the North Summit Senior girls on May 19. 1984. traveled all over the United States in her job. She said, "Whatever you decide to do, make- it something you will be happy with and do it for yourself." All three of these young women were outstanding examples' of what a graduating girl can do in the business world. DeAnn has traveled many places. She has made very good wages and feels her experiences have made her life very enjoyable. She advised the girls' mothers to always support their daughters and encourage them to take advantage of the many opportunities available to them. Let the girls stand on their own two feet, but be there if the need arises. After DeAnn, Audrey Judd, representing the girls, thanked the BPW for the things they do. V President Helen Blonquist told the girls. "You are very her rather sheltered life and go to Dixie College. At that time, she thought about all a girl could expect to be was a nurse, secretary or teacher. Now women are in different fields such as brain surgeons and CPAs. She encouraged the girls to set goals and if they want to do somehthing and if they try hard. they will achieve their goals. Young people should feel secure about what feces them. Everyone approaches life differently and no one should be afraid about doing and being different. There are many options and wise choices should be made. Not everyone has to have a steady boy friend and a wedding in the near future. There are many other opportunities, and one is as a business woman. DeAnn had two very successful young business women with her. One was a court reporter that has her own business. .She said. Don't limit yourself.'' The other business woman is an Application Specialist and her job is to demonstrate medical equipment with on site training. She has President Helen Blonquist welcomed the girls and their mothers. She said the BPW was started in 1919 and was organized in Coalville in 1929. Mrs. Affra Rees of Coalville is a charter member. The Coalville BPW started honoring the Senior girls in 1932. This is their 52nd year. The dub served refreshments of ice cream balls tooled in nuts, cookies, candy and punch. Robin Judd and Nachelle DeWeese sang several very beautiful numbers. Robin accompanied some of the numbers on her guitar. The guest speaker was DeAnn Geary.' She said as a 17 year old. she thought she knew everything. High School can be a tramatic time for some, and graduation may seem like the end, but life does go cm and we must go with it. She told how as a graduate 11 years ago, she decided to leave Coalville and - important". Incoming President Joyce Mitchell expressed her love to everyone and said she was thankful for good friends. Elder Marchant to Serve Former Peoa Resident Wins Honors For Achievements Elder Michael Lynn Marchant, son of Dale and Verda Marchant has been called to serve an L.D.S. mission in Adelaide, Australia. He will enter the M.T.C. on May 24, 1984. Michael graduated from South Summit High School in 1983 where he was active in football, basketball and tennis. He has also been attending Snow College for the past year. A farewell was held in his honor at the Peon Ward on May 20, at 11:15 a.m. Thanks to all family and friends who attended and made his day so special. engineering profession. Dr. Marchant, who resides at 2851 S. 625 West, Bountiful, Utah, was bom in Peoa, Utah and graduated from South Summit High School in 1952. He is the son of Mrs. Afton H. and the late G. Reed Marchant of Kamas, Utah. He received his BES degree in Electrical Engineering from BYU in 1959. In 1967 he received his PhD from the University pf Utah. As a professional Engineer, he has gained international prominence for his contributions to the fields of instrumentation, Elder Michael Marchant Summit County Cooks ne computer control, and air quality surveillance. He is presently an engineering, operating management, and motivational consulting firm which he founded in 1980. In June of this year. Dr. Marchant will be presenting the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Time Commerce's Manage Seminar. In July, he will be recognized for his outstanding accomplishments in the motivational field at the annual convention of the SMC division of Success Motivating Institute, and in August he will be lecturing at the University of Chile in Santiago on Process Instrumentation and Control. Dr. Marchant is a Registered Professional Engineer, a senior member of IEEE and ISA and a member of the Society of Mining Engineers. He has served as an officer and seminar chairman of numerous national and international as well as local professional gatherings. He is also listed in Who's Who in the West and is the author of over 60 professional publications. Dr. Marchant Vegetable Salad . Roxey was born in Emery, Utah the daughter of Joseph and Lyle Jensen. She had 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
