Show The Summit Countv Bee Coalville, UT 84017 Friday January 27, 1984 4A South Summit Wildcats South Summit High School Fauvines The drill team has been working very hard this year from earning money to help pay for their uniforms to supplying the audience with a variety of exciting drills. Their year begins in May with tryouts and they dont get a rest until March and April, then it starts all over again. The girls get up every moraine and have to be at practice by 6:30 a.m. We have group stretch and exercise for 13 minutes then drills are taught and repeated until perfect. the drill team, would like to invite the community out to the Region Competition February 16, 7:00 p.m. at the North Summit High School Gym. The girls have been working very hard for this and it would really help to have this added support. Nancy Mondragon and Janene Gines (advisors) would like to thank parents of the girls, school, and community for all of their help and support. South Summit Wrestling Tournament received fourth place. Dirk Rockhill won one of his matVs at a weight of 133. Marty Larsen at a weight of 167 also earned a win in one of his matches. Matt McCormick, at 138, did an excellent job with a victory of first place. He was named the outstanding wrestler. Obviously Matt has worked very hard to achieve this By Julie Farkas South Summit High School was the host for an awesome wrestling tournament. Eight schools participated in the meet. In order of their places they were: North Sevier-firs- t, Hillcrest South Summit versus North Summit Wrestling By Julie Farkas d, South Summit once again met their true rivals in an awesome wrestling meet at North Summit. South Rich also was there to participate. The atmosphere was filled with the thrill of victory. The one will be the question lingered: victors of this outstanding match? The final scores showed that South Summit was the winning team. South Summit ended the tournament with 76, North Sum mit with 73, and South Rich with 42. We may not have beat the Braves by much, but a win is a win. In JV North Summit won by a score of 12-- Only two of our JV wrestlers won. Troy Prescott pinn"1 Stewa.t ed his oppont'n: Sargent won his mi;: . jy decision. In Varsity, the Cats came out with five winners. Matt McCormick won both of his matches by decision. Kirk Prescott pinned in 3. his first try and won by decision in his second match. Dirk Rockhill won by a pin. Marty Larsen was a victor in one of his matches by a pin and also won his second one by superior decision. Our heavyweight Jason Avcret won hi.-match by pinning his opponent. As you can see the Cats have once again done a great job and vc are very proud of them. They certainly deserved the win. Good j Duchesne-thir- Wildcats!!!!! Bart Shoda lost both of his matches due to a case of trying too hard. Combine cake mis, butter, and Blend frosting mix into softened cream cheese. Reserve cup for frosting baked bars. Add 2 eggs to remaining frosting mixture. Beat 5 minutes at high speed. Spread over base. Bake at 350 for 5 minutes. Cool, frost. Cut into bars. January 18, at 11:00 a.m. the South Summit student body filled the auditorium for a national school assembly.
