Details of several Industry programs to be implemented in the coming year were reviewed by BIC directors at the 1976 Annual Meeting of the Meat Board, held August 23-2- 5 in Boise, Idaho. Industry leaders were brought up to date on developments in the major beef program areas during session. theBIC general Chairman of the six beef subcommittees made reports to the foil council and offered their committee's recommendations to the BIC. The subcommittees are responsible for making policy den cisions and providing direction. The Advertising and Promotion Committee, headed by chairman Robert M. Carter, approved the 1976-7- 7 statenational cooperative campaign. It advertising includes television advertising in four major markets starting this fall; ads for the BIC publication, newest The American Metric Beef Cookbook," in September's Woman's Day and Cood Housekeeping; the Budget Special Course Offered Utah State University Extension Service in copper-ati- on with the Dept, of Family and Human Development are offering a special television course for parents, .prospective parents, school teachers or anyone who works with families of young chil- completing the assignments and submitting the appropriate tees. A written script of the series Is available to provide the listener with an record of the material presented over television. This unique and informative television course will start September 20, 1976 at 3 p.m. on KUED Channel 7 and con. tlnue through November 23, 1976. A new program will be aired each Monday and repeated the next day (Tuesday) at the same hour. Based on ' the Foodservice Department's recent report on the usage of beef by their industry, the committee recommended that the dollar appropriations from the BIC to the foodservice program be adjusted upward to closer match the foodservice industrys demand for beef.
