The fire which started from a wood burning stove in the kitchen and quickly spread across the room left little chance for the family to salvage any of their belongings. Merlyn and five children were home at the time of the blaze. The children got out with just what they were some without shoes. Already my students are thinking of Christmas before turkey day. Also the first term of the school year has slipped by leaving some students on thin ice as their parents found out Monday at Parent-Teach- er conference. Speaking of conferences-la- st Wednesday I hosted a region leadership conference for aU student body council throughout the region. The guest speaker was the principal of Clearfield High School, Mr. Gayle A. Stephenson, followed by workshops under the direction of my student body officers. Also the leaders were entertained with music from Crae Vernon and Robin DeWeese. The theme of the conference , was "People Support which was played at Beaver. The team left Thursday morning and traveled to Panquitch to spend the night.
