Dear- Editor: In yesterdays paper listing the births for last week you made my little girl a boy. Will this make any difference.-r-Yoaku- m the zoning ordinance. This conversation caused me to change, in part, my feelings toward the ordinance. The idea of the ordinance is to control building, in the county, but not to stop it, this should be kept in mind. If there have been mistakes made in some of these subdivisions, the whole county shouldn't have to pay for it. The county issues the building permits and if there is no water or proper road then they can refuse a permit. June Patter son has cer. new home. An ordinance cannot please evetyone but must be for the I, like many paid no attention to what was going on in our county government until this zoning thing came to light. At the meeting held last week there were many legal opinions expressed and a lot of personal sentiment too. Most think some kind of zoning law is necessary, but not as it is presently written. I also formed opinions and went home and wrote down my ideas on the whole thing. I was having serious thoughts about typing it up when I had an unexpected opportunity to talk a few minutes with one of our grumbling and mumbling into some constructive criticism and make our county a good place to live now and for the future generations who will follow. We cannot stand still, we must either move ahead or backward. We have good men in leadership positions in our county. They put in many hours more than they are ever paid for. Let's pack them up and support them. Let's not let outsiders come in and rule our county for us. Let's keep government M OPED 10 A.M. lo 10 P.M. (Tex.) |
