Minchey, 65 North 200 East, Kamas, Utah. At this, date, we have been unsuccessful in getting an agent for Park City district Number 1. Any one Uving in this district may register at any of the other Park City precincts or with the County Clerk, until we can talk some one into taking the job. persons who wiU be 18 years of age or older wiU be eligible to register and vote this year: however, it is best if aU persons check to make sure that their names are still on the registration book. The law requires that you must vote at least once every four years, either in a city election or a general election to maintain voter status. AU times a person registers but fails to vote in that election. Their names are taken from the registration books and it is necessary to register again. I have noticed this espec-iaU- y with the 18 and 19 year old voters. Last year was the first time that any in this age group were permitted to vote.Someof these young people registered, Some but did not vote in the city elections, and therefore, are not on the books for this gen- eral election. If you have changed places of residence this year for the first time, it wUl not be necessary to obtain a transfer from the old agent, but you must reg- ister with your new agent. It is now possible for persons living temporarily away from home to register and vote. AU they have to do is request a registration form from the County Clerk, then after receiving the forms, have them properly filled out and have some other person witness their signatures. This applies to service men, missionaries, or any others students coUege away from home. After taking care of the registeration problems, they must request an absentee ballot from the County Clerk at Coalville. There are several important contests on the State level for the primary election, Sept. 12, There is one contest on the republican side for the County, that being for two year commissioner between Archie C. Pace and Dale Leavitt, Hie winner of this contest will oppose Koy Page in the November election. Also on the local scene, there is one contest for school board member in Woodland-Fran- cis to be on the primary ballot. Four men have filed for the position. Theron W. Atkinson, LaVerl BusheU, Elmer and William H. Lemon. Two of these will be eliminated at the primary election. Koh-kon- en, is an Important General Election. Make sure that your name is on the list of ellglt 1972 voters and that you cast a boi lot.-R- eed Pace, County Clerk. |
