' s 0- -- aa. T Hazel Street Funeral Held ?.rtV. WANSHI- PHazel Jane Hixson Hortin Street, 82, died Nov. 9, in a Murray hospital. She was born April 5,1888,Wanshlp,toJames Monroe and Margaret Elizabeth Ranch Hixson. Married A. Charles Hortin, April 24, 1918, Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died Sept. 17, 1945. Married Edward H. Street, Aug. 13, 1954; he died May 12, 1958. Mrs. Street served as Summit County Treasurer, 1951-5- 5; member LDS Church, where she held various offices; was a member of the Relief Society since 1903; President of Wan-sh- ip Ward Relief Society two different times; Councelor Summit Stake Relief Society and teacher for many years in the organizations. She was also Ward Organist. President of DUP Wanship Camp; held offices in the County D.U.P.; helped compile History of Summit County, Echos of Yesterday; also history of Wanship called Wanship in Retrospect. Mrs. Street played the piano in the Old Time Orchestra with William Pendleton and Joshua Bates for many years; made quilting her hobby, quilting 53 quilts. Survivors: sons, daughters, Arthur M., Murray; John D., Wanship; Frank H., Wallsburg; Mrs. James (Marr) Hennek, Wamsutter, Wyo.; Mrs. Vernon (Lorraine) Young, Salt Lake City; stepson, stepdaughters, William Street, Mrs. Jack (Arlene) Anderson, Mrs. Junior (Virginia) Dixon, all of Richfield 25 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; toother, Karl B., Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 12 in the Wanship Ward Chapel, conducted by Bishop Dwayne Pace. Family prayer, Junior Dixon; prelude and poklude music, Verla Pace; prayer, Don Robertson; double trio; sons, My God and I, by Merle Vernon, Hope Williams, Dorothy Bogedahl, Verdell Pace, Noretta Peterson and Verla Pace, accompanied by Emma Smith; talk, Eugene Pace; Organ Medley, Verla Pace; sermon by Emerson Staples; sang "Abide With Me, by double trio; prayer, Harvey Pace. Flowers were taken care of by the Daughters to the Pioneers. Dedication of the Grave, Ray Hixson. Burial was in the Wanship Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jim Hennek, Lynn Young, Wayne Hortin, Rohn Hortin, Wayne Hixson and Charles Malstrom. 1 me THANK YOU thank all who supported in the Nov. 3 election. E. Roland Sahleen Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Crittenden were pleasantly surprised when their son, Dr. L Hunter Crittenden visited them from Sunday until Tuesday enroute from Atlantic City. Dr. Crittenden, a heart specialist in a San Beraadlno, Calif, hospital had been attending a medical convention in Atlantic City. He and his wife are the parents of three children and reside at Redlands, Calif. They are making tentative plans to come to Utah for the holidays, the main attraction being skiing for the children and of course to visit their grandparents. Elder Frank Kay Judd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Judd, left ' for Sao Paulo, Brazil, Wednesday, Nov. 18, to begin filling a Brasil Central Mission for the LDS Church. Many friends and relatives were there to see him er that she needs a vacation from dear old Coalville. So .Mrs. Clark is planning on leaving Coalville and 'staying in Kearns until Thanksgiving. Mrs. Stella Dlston of Coalville has been working on a quilt for an unknown member of her family and with the help of Edith Clark, Barbara Hortin, Maxine Dlston and Annie Robinson, was able to finish it all off on Tuesday. It looks like someone In the Dlston family is going to receive a wonderful Christmas present. Do you know who you are? Mrs. Ray (V Icky) Croft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dlston of Coalville has been up visiting from Alameda, California for the past two weeks. She brought her son with her, and being the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dlston and the great grandson of Mrs. Stella Diston, he received quite a bit of attention. They both left Saturday for their home in California. off. Kay Crittenden of Hoytsville has been busy the past three weeks cleaning up the wreckage of a piled up train in Lake Point, Utah near the Nevada border. He reports that of 110 cars on the train, 46 of them were piled iV, spilling lumber, grass seed and cans of Del Monte pears. They hope to have the wreck cleaned up in the near future. Mrs. C. A. Crittenden, better known as Nellie, has been busy visiting relatives this week.
