Capt. Irene Rowser conducted the meeting and Marguerite Paskett offered the opening prayer. Mrs. Melva Rlchlns gave the lesson entitled 'Landmarks Saved by the Daughters of the The history Utah Pioneers. was presented by Mrs. Margaret Rlchlns and was about her great grandfather, Robert Salmon, who was the first Bishop of Coalville. Capt. Rowser was happy to announce that two more pictures had been added to their collection, which are of Arthur Rlchlns and Lucy Booth Rlchlns and thanked Harold Rlchlns for this contribution. Relics added to their growing display included a wicker baby cradle and an old washer wringer which was in the garage of the Lilly Foster home and which was presented by Maxine Foster. Also on display now is a mirror which hung in the Stake Tabernacle in Coalville which is over 85 years old. The camp was very pleased to add all these relics to their display. As a matter of Information, the ladles were told two groups had stopped to register at the cabin during the week, including a group of Priesthood boys from Salt Lake, and a group from the Deaf and Dumb school In Ogden. Capt. Rowsef again thanked Mrs. Marguerite Pasketiforall her efforts In compiling inform- - ation about the early sheep industry in Henefer, which has now been printed, and can be purchased from any member for one dollar. Another history concerning the early agriculture of Henefer and the Red Brick school house Is now completed, thanks to Mrs, Maxine Wright, and will soon be printed and also available for sale. The organization Is also planning a bazaar for the first part of November and urge everyone to help with this pro- ject. Fifteen women from the Henefer Camp DUP attended a convention in Park City May 20 and reported having an enjoyable day with other women from Morgan, Summit and Wasatch counties. Pres. Kate B. Carter and her entire board were present which added greatly to the success of the meeting. Summit county officers were up for election and Mrs. Fawn Smith of Wanshlp and her officers were reinstated for the coming year. PECKBBOS. Seven young people from Wanshlp were among the graduating class at North Summit High School Friday evening; Dennis Pace, Val Bates, Doyle Wilde, Anita Judd, Terry Kathryn Pace and Susan Milliner, Their plana for the Mure Include marriage for Terry and Anita; BYU for Dennis; Weber College for Val; Susan and Kathryn will attend Utah State and Doyle will leave for an LDS mission. The first of May was the day the infant son of Dennis and Susanne Porter Ritter made his appearance. On Mothers day he visited in Henefer at the home of his Mrs. Susannah Fowler, who was very pleased with her This Is the new couples first child and the first grandchild for Verna and Glen Porter of Clearfield. Another May baby was the 7 lb. 13 ox. son born May 11 to Elsena and Tommy Jones of Clearfield, with the arrival of this boy It evened the count, to three boys and three girls at the Joness home. While mother was In the hospital, and recuperating at home, Arlin and Ladena visited in Henefer with their grandparents, Richard and Grace Jones. The other children remained at home and attended school. Other proud new grandparents Include Mr. and Mrs. Owen Roberts of Henefer and a great grandmother in Henefer, Mrs. Charlotte Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Stephens of Afton, Wyo. are the other happy great grandparents. Mr. Otto Lythgoe Is a patient In an Ogden hospital where he is recuperating following surgery performed last week. Alden and Dorothy Rlchlns and children of Mantl visited over the weekend In Henefer at the home of Norman Rlchlns. Alden and his family will be moving back around the first of July and will make their home In Davis county where Alden will be over the seminaries In Davis and Summit counties, Heber, Morgan and Lyman, great-grandso- n. Wyo. next year. Ina and Bernard Jones and family are enjoying a few days visit from their son, Dennis and family. Dennis has Just returned to Utah after completing schooling at the Officers Training School at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and will now be commissioned a 2nd Lt. In the Utah National Guard. His wife and children made their home In Central with her parents while he was away but as soon as housing Is found they will be making their home In Logan. David and Phyllis Passey and children and Mrs. Ruth Ball attended the graduation exercises at South Rich Friday evening where Normans girl, Terrie, and Davids niece Ruby Lynn, daughter of Charlie and Lilly Lynn, were among the graduates. Sunday afternoon Norma and family, Including their son Milton who lshomeon leave from the U.S. Navy, visited In Henefer at Ruths home and Monday they spent the day visiting In Heber with relatives. A turkey dinner, In fact a two turkey dinner was enjoyed by the family of Sam ami Irene Rowser Sunday at their home In Henefer, In honor of their son Bruce, who is home on furlough before reporting to San Francisco on the 11th, and from there he will go to Viet Nam. Those enjoying the afternoon together were Bob and Dorene Rowser and children of Morgan, Bessie and Allan Warr and family of Salt Lake and Nell and Ruth Lythgoe of Henefer. The Indian placement children at .ended an outing at Lagoon Saturday, May 20 which is an annual event for these students before they return to their homes for the summer. Those attending from Henefer were Rose Marie Dandy, Eddie Blg-ma- n, Lolita Honahnl, Karen Benn, Effie and Julie Fowler and Pauline Martin of Hoyts-vlll- e. These young people will all leave Wednesday. Cecils Bighand who has been staying with the Charles Dunn family left Monday night. Bishop and Mrs. Grant Pas-ke- ti and Rose Marie attended graduation exercises In Morgan Thursday evening and had an enjoyable visit with Rosies parents who had come to witness the graduation of their son, Charlie Dandy, who has beat staying with Mr. and Mrs. Baer in Morgan. Rosies sister, who lives In Kaysville also was present. I dont suppose there was Classified Promotion much sleeping done at the home of Fawn and Gordon Stephens Thursday night, but one thing is sure there was plenty of giggling, dancing, and noise as Cecils Bighand, Julia Fowler, Lorie Stephens, Afton Jones, Dixie Fawcett and Karen Benn spread their sleeping bags out on the floor and spent the night together as the school year drew to a close. Of course young Tammie and Kenneth Stephens joined in all the fun too. And as the 1966-6- 7 school year came to an end last week ten young people from Henefer and Echo were among the Senior class which graduated from North Summit Friday evening including Eva Brooks, Terry Dawson, Helen RaeHulme, Judy James, Shanna Nowling, Judy Ovard, Pamela Wilde, Joel Fawcett, Alvin Rlchlns and Frank Stevens. Bernett Smith was as captain, Ann Reese was elected first vice president and Lares Blonquist as 2nd vice president. President Smith gave a report of the convention In Park City Hay 19 which was under the direction of Summit County President Fawn Smith, who was to this position at this time. Also attending the convention was Kate B. Carter of Salt Lake and members of her staff. Viola Mabey gave an interesting outline of tbs 316 historical markers which have been placed around the area under the direction of the DUP. It was stated that credit should be given to Kate B. Carter who is dedicated to the Interest of saving historical landmarks for following generations. She Is a publisher and writer of many books on this subject which are In demand throughout the world. The history of Anna Johanna Johansen Nelson, grandmother of Mrs. Edna LJTramelllng was given by Caroline Sargent. Cap? tain Smith expressed her thanks to the ladles from Hoytsville who have been taking an active Interest In the programs, and renews her invitation to them to attend all meetings which will begin again In September. Mrs. Elva Staley turned a scrap-boocontaining histories and Items of interest to the DUP to Mrs. Clara Adams. Captain Bernett Smith was In diarge of the meeting, opening prayer was by Elva Staley, Rhea U. Bagnell was organist and Viola Mabey served as chorister In the absence of Mrs. 3eary who was excused because of illness. The financial report and minutes of the May meeting were read.
