I have now received a copy o( the bill an it wro passed by the lait legislu-tore- , and which (ollowa in AN ACT AMENDING SEC- TION UTAH CODE ANNOTATED 1953, AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 112, LAWS OF UTAH 1961, RELATING TC THE REMITTANCE OR AB 4TEMENT OF THE PROPER TY TAXES OF INDIGENT PERSONS. Le it exacted by the Legislu-tuio t the Stale of Utah: The County Buard ot Equalisation has power, alter living notice in such manner an It may by rule prescribe, to increase or lower any assessment contained in any assessment book, so as to equalize the assessment of the property contained therein and make the assessment conform to thirty per cent of the reasonable fair valu of such property. Said board may remit or ubatc liu taxes of any indigent person to an amount not exceeding fiO but not more than 50 per rent of the total tax assessed for the current year, whichever sum is 59-7-- t 59-7-- les.:. Any person or persons under thu age of 65 years, or whose principal Income is derived from Utah Public Welfare grants, shall not be eligible for relief under this art, unless the County Board of Equallz.it.on finds extreme hardship might p.evail should such granta Ml bo made and such person or persons by totally disabled. Every person applying for such exemption, must, on or before May I in each year, file an application fur the exemption with the Board of County Commissioners of the county in which he or she resides, which will give adequate facts setting forth his or her eligibility to receive such exemption or any portion thereof. Said application shall contain u ulunud affidavit setting forth the eligibility ot said applicant for the exemption. For the purpoae of this act an Indigent is any person whose total yearly Income is lefts than 91,500.00 and whose residence in which he or she resides for not leas than ten months of each year for which he or she requests a property tax exemption has a market or appraised value of not more than 510,000.00." They have taught school In Lovell, Wyo. the past year and both will attend school in Billings, Montana during the coming summer. Lt. and Mrs. H.G.Sprouse (Carol) and their two children Harbor, Washington are visiting her parents, MR. and of Oak Mrs. Cleo Birch. Ed and Brenda Carman and their daughters, Dana and Mitzle of St. George, visited Friday afternoon at the home of Bryan and Leah Geary. ' Graduation calledfor a family celebration at the home of Floyd and Elva Nowllng. Their daughter, ShannaGaye, was graduated from North Summit.
