R Recalls Days when Cash W Was s Nil Ni By Margaret ret Thackeray My husband has been busy the past week working in the garden getting it read ready for winter whiter As he was was digging the potatoes he found a small round coin about one inch in diameter He put put it it in his pocket and con conS d digging I Joined him later in the afternoon and and he showed me ma what he had found He scraped off some of the dirt and we could see that It wasn't actually money but the number 10 showed up so clearly that I took it to the house douse to try to polish it more As the corrosion began to disappear lettering came cam clearly into view On one side was written Tuten Fry Pry Mercantile General Merchandise Morgan Utah On the reverse reverse side was Good for 10 In Merchandise This fascinated me I hadn't heard of this type coin in the county before I fir first t contacted Roy E. E Francis to see if Jf he co could ld tell me anything about it He had heard of this medium of exchange in early days from his father We thought it best to of Richard T.
