Boys eagerly asked girls to accompany them to the Grecian Gardens themed evening. Previously a gym, the space was transformed into a beautiful greek garden setting complete with working fountain and starry sky. This transformation was possible by the cooperation of an excellent Junior Class Today H62 L41 Council consisting of Isaac Tillett, Olivia Johnson, Emily Turner, Kaylee McArthur, and Kim Sylvester, many early planning sessions, and one of the largest contributing junior class prom committees to date. Students completed all decorating after school hours and rotated their class periods daily to meet with local choreographer Kristen Klinger to orchestrate a memorable promenade performed to "Time After Time." The day of the prom couples had planned fun filled day dates with friends. Juniors gathered at 9 p.m. to take a group picture to commemorate the night. Introductions of classmembers was followed by their promenade presentation. Then daughters joined with their fathers and the sons with their mothers to dance the traditional after promenade tribute. If we go somewhere, I am not without my camera!," stated Richard C. Bullough, who was recently noted and honored as one of the "featured photographers" with this photo entitled: "Sunset of the Great Salt Lake!" The photographic exhibition, which opened at the Swaner EcoCenter last week, is entitled: "Utah Wilderness 50: A Photographic Exhibition". The photo was picked out of many, and as a former editor for the "Deseret News", he recalls the time he took this "lucky catch". He and his wife were heading to Tooele for a meeting, and a storm had just cleared. He told his wife that he usually can catch a sunset over the Great Sale Lake after a storm, so he made sure his camera was with him. (Continued inside on Page A3) |
