Show SUMMIT COUNTY NEWS PAGE B6 Free pick up service for building materials now available from Recycle Utah The US Environmental Protection Agency estimated in 2007 that more than 160 million tons of building related construction and demolition materials were generated each year, with only 30% of it being recovered for recycling. All throughout the country, perfectly good re-usable doors, windows, appliances, plumbing supplies and other construction waste, eventually end up in landfills. Fortunately for the Greater Park City area and Summit County, Recycle Utah has been recycling building materials for more than 10 years through "The Warehouse" program at the 1951 Woodbine Way facility. Building contractors, businesses and residents have enthusiastically supported this reuse community program. But it gets better... Starting July 1, Recycle Utah is pleased to announce a new free pick up service for the businesses and residents in the greater Park City area. Once a week, Recycle Utah staff members will schedule pick ups throughout the community for specific building materials that are re-usable and in good condition. Some of the items that can be picked up are: Working appliances (No Refrigerators please); Doors, windows, lumber, cabinets; Plumbing and lighting supplies. Pick ups must be scheduled in advance by calling the Warehouse at 435-649-9698 extension 3. This is a free service and donations are gladly accepted. Recycle Utah's Warehouse facility is a community re-use program providing an alternative solution to building material waste. Drop off service at the Warehouse is always welcome weekdays between 8 am and 6 pm and weekends between 10 am and 4 p.m. For more information about this and the many other programs available through Recycle Utah, please visit www.recycleutah.org or contact the center directly at (435) 649-9698. Recycle Utah is Park City's only non-profit community drop off recycling center providing resource re-allocation for more than 40 different items and a variety of conservation and educational programs for Summit and Wasatch Counties JULY 16, 2010 Subscribe To The Summit County News! 336-5501 A MOUNTAIN MEDICAL AND MEDSPA Take advantage of ourgrand opening offers!
