With horse and pack mule he went up the mountains above Woodland to an area that had the evasive noxious weed identified as Dalmation toadflax and released the bug known as a steam boring weevil. This plant is very hard to kill off and the CWMA is hoping that by using the bugs we can find a way to rid the area of this extremely evasive plant before it takes over the winter range of our wildlife. Four boys from North Summit High School attended the Annual Boys State Convention held at Weber State University on June 7 through June 11. This was a great opportunity for these boys to learn a lot about our government and how it operates. While at Boys State they were able to earn College credit as well as participate in various activities. Nathanial also earned a Scholarship from Weber State for his academic achievements. While attending the boys were able to be elected to different positions in their various cities. This gives each of the boys the opportunity to serve the same way adults do in our own society. Those in attendance were Josh Ovard, Nathanial Rothchild, Cole Richins and Dalton Ross. Josh Ovard is the son of Stuart and Becky Ovard. Nathanial Rothchild is the son of Saul and Wendy Rothchild. Cole Richins is the son of Kay and Jill Richins. Dalton Ross is the son of Craig and Jana Ross. These boys would like to thank the Local American Legion Auxiliary for sponsoring them this year at Boys State and giving them this opportunity to attend.
