Show N.S. SCHOOL NEWS MAY SUMMIT COUNTY NEWS 7, 2010 a part the North Summit School District, and has many memories of the students and co-workers. She will always consider herself a loyal "Brave." She will miss the world's best school lunches, especially the oatmeal cookies. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Ms. Bates for her years of service and dedication to North Summit School District. We wish her and her family a lot of enjoyment and success. The North Summit Board of Education accepted Ms. Bates' retirement and expressed their sincere appreciation for her years of service. Once again, thank you Ms. Bates for your services to North Summit School District. We will miss you! Steve Ericksen, North Summit Elementary teacher, has announced his retirement. Mr. Ericksen began his career teaching one year at South Sanpete School District, and one year at Cokeville, WY. Mr. Ericksen was hired to teach at North Summit School District, and has been a dedicated employee for 31 years. Mr. Ericksen has been a dedicated and hard working employee. He has accomplished many educational needs for the students of the district. We have appreciated his efforts in serving as a teacher for 31 great years. Mr. Ericksen said he has been looking forward to retiring for some time, and having faithfully served this community, and its school system for 31 years, he is ready! He plans to enjoy a stress free, unstructured retirement, and see where life's road takes him. The North Summit Board of Education accepted Mr. Ericksen's retirement and expressed their sincere gratitude for the years of service to our district. We wish him a lot of enjoyment and success. Again, thank you Mr. Ericksen for your services to North Summit School District. You will be missed! The banquet was held to honor many FFA members. Many awards were given. Followed by the officer retirement and delicious food this year banquet was a blast. Last but not least the announcement of the new officer team and committee chairs for the 2010-2011 school year. This year President is Josh Ovard; Vice-Presidents, Zaina Deweeze, and Dalton Ross; Secretary, Bailie Richins; Historian, Nakayla Vernon; Reporter, Sofia Mira; Treasurer, Ethan Young; Sentinel, Bradie Jill Jones. And this year committee chairs are: Janet Rodriguez, Cassidy Black and Darby Richins. Without any doubt the North Summit FFA banquet was a great experience, full of enjoyment and dedication. Congratulations to all the award winners and especial thanks to 2009-2010 chapter officers and all of those who made this wonderful banquet possible. The Outstanding Member Awards are given due to the member involvement in chapter activities, and state level through the year. This year outstanding members are: Cassidy Black, Rocky Roath, Ethan Young, Blooklyn Preator and Anna Donaldson. The Wanted Awards are to recognize all of those who have made a positive impact in the life of others and have show great leaderships qualities, chosen by the chapter officers and wanted by everybody. CALL 435-654-1471 B3 FFA banquet Two N.S. teachers retire Nancy Bates, North Summit High School teacher, has announced her retirement. Ms. Bates has taught school for 27 years. She taught her first year of school in 1964 at a school district in Salt Lake City. She worked in Ogden School District for three years. After leaving Ogden, she was hired at North Summit School District, where she has taught school for 23 years. Ms. Bates has been a dedicated, motivated, and hard working employee in our district, while accomplishing many educational needs for the students of North Summit. The students, employees, and patrons have appreciated her continued efforts in educating our students. Nancy has a very genuine love and compassion for the students, as well as the students have a true love and compassion for her. Everyone will miss her. Ms. Bates is looking forward to working on many art projects; many have been on hold for a long time.
