Silver Creek Road, Park City. Kindergarteners – 6th graders welcome. Call (435) 647-5855 to register or for more information www.mountainlife.org The 4th of July is quickly approaching, and plans made by families are high on the list to get together and celebrate. During this recession time, what a better way to celebrate than to stay at home, or travel as short a distance as possible, and be with family. The memories made are many, and the kids would rather be able to play together with cousins and siblings, than to run to somewhere ex- otic and expensive. There are several fun spots to hit during the holiday season - the 4th of July celebration in Henefer, for one, and of course, the ever popular and traditional rodeo at Oakley - with the parade and breakfast that can’t be missed! Making memories with the family is great fun - and when the kids grow up they will then likewise do the same with their families. It is catching, inexpensive travel (prices of gas are skyrocketing already!) and staying at home makes it easier to fix the BBQ dinner in the backyard! Check out the local entertainment, fireworks, breakfasts, lunches and the games for kids to enjoy. Call the kids, the neighbors, invite your friends, and experience a holiday you will always remember! Recycling Tip For The Week… Summertime - The Great Eating Season As Farmer’s Markets open and the early crops from local growers come in, it’s important to focus on sustainable eating habits: Eat food grown as close to home as possible. Your vegetables and fruits will be fresher and less energy is consumed to take them to market. Avoid white foods. Processed white flour and white rice aren’t as good for your colon as brown rice, brown bread and other grains rich in fiber. Avoid refined sugar too. Stay away from processed food. If the label lists ingredients that have a lot of syllables and are hard to pronounce, choose something that has less additives. Buy organic food. Conventional food has pesticides residues, hormones and antibiotics in the food chain. Avoid these things. Drink plenty of water. Install a filter on your water tap and fill a stainless steel water bottle so that when you drive, sit at your desk and exercise, you have plenty of good, clean tap water.
