School News Summit County News PAGE B2 JUNE 5, 2009 The South Summit Elementary School Featured the Students with scores in the top 10% of the Nation… Alll scoring high in the fields of Social Studies, Reading, Math, Science and Language...Congratulations kids - and keep up the good work! Middle School hold Awards Assembly/Talent Show Principal Wade Woolstenhulme presented honor rolls, and Mr. Woolstenhulme sand a song for the kids - “It’s Hard to be Humble” (just ‘cause he loves Teachers enjoy “brunch” outside after kids leave the school Mr. the kids!”)… and the kids loved Hayes loved the idea of “Freedom Day”! it! Some graduates came down the walk very serious, others, excited and exuberant - with determination! The Talent show began after Officer Vernon presented an award, and Cindy Mitchell presented the Accelerated Reader Awards. Talent presented by Micaela Willoughby - a song; and Matana Myers also sang a song. Following the reading of the sixth grade honor roll, Hailey Hemenway/Ashley Bayles sang. Mr. Chip Hayes presented awards which he handed over $100 bills for the best research papers! Sage Boyce danced and then Hailey Nilson also danced. Mr. Lambert then presented awards to students, followed by Shaquara Moore and a dance. The seventh grade Honor Roll was then read, followed by a song by Tori Meza! Mr. Brad Flinders presented more awards, and Marissa Wilde played the piano with her solo. The Farm Bureau were presented their Students with their yearbook to be signed! awards by Jacki Blazzard, followed by a dance by Courtney Hawkins. The eighth grade Honor Roll was announced, ending with Carla Gimenez featuring a song and guitar solo. The 100) awards certificates and medal after which the Iowas Testing Certificates were given out. Other awards were presented, followed by Most Improved Award which went to Ayla Russell and Randon Singer. Famous "Tapestry" singing "Winds of Change" Students earn a Day at Lagoon Students who had earned good citizenship points were able to go to Lagoon with the Middle School. Mr. Woolstenhulme enjoyed the Rattlesnake Rapids with the special ed students - getting soaked! It was a great Fun Day - as there were not big lines - and those who attended had a great time. They participated on this Years of memories from Kindergarten to today! Remember kick- “Fun Day” the day before school ball over the wall and kissing tag! oh - and the cherry bombs...! let out, May 28!
