Formerly the Summit County Bee 50¢ Friday, May 16, 2008 Coalville, Utah 84017 Tribute To The Loving Memory of Saundra Toole CHERYL OVARD SCN Editor Well known throughout the Summit County area - from Park City to Henefer - Summit County resident Saundra Stephens Toole and wife of Douglas Boyd Toole, will be missed by family, friends and neighbors. Her life was ended on May 8, 2008, as she was helping her husband clean up the yard at their “dream home” in Henefer, in a “Horrific and untimely accident!” She was truly a friend to all she met, and was supportive in community and church activities throughout her lifetime. She was a loving mom, grandma, and wife to her family. Saundra was “always there” for the grandchildren, with her ‘famous’ grandma smile for the grandkids! She was a child at heart, planning wonderful sleepover parties for the grandchildren - and was there for important events in lives. With the trials of blood clots which almost took her live a couple of years ago, and the on sought of the terrible disease - Multiple Sclerosis, she still maintained her up-beat attitude with life. Saundra was supportive of all of her husband’s ventures, from National Football League referee for nearly twenty years to his physical therapist positions he has held throughout his life. Saundra was always there for him. A native of Henefer, and one of four daughters and two brothers of Edison and the late Beulah Stephens, Saundra graduated from North Summit High School, marrying her high school sweetheart 48 years ago. She and Doug enjoyed their lifetime together raising three beautiful daughters. Throughout their married life they traveled the world, and Saundra had friends wherever she went. She was dedicated to her family, and her genealogy research - recently compiling the book “The Family and History of Parley Robert Stephens and Elthera Videan Fawcett.” The love from family and friends was very evident in the nine hours of greetings from them at the funeral services both Monday and Tuesday and the endless lines just kept moving towards the family. Approximately 1,000 were in attendance at the Coalville Stake Center for the services on May 13. The Summit County Sheriff’s Department expresses their sympathies and condolences to the family also. Sheriff Edmund’s stated that “you never get used to the traumas of accidents in their line of work - and their thoughts and prayers are also with the family at this time!” The Communities of Summit County and the areas Saundra and Doug lived in throughout their married lives together will also miss her dearly. Love and condolences are also expressed to the family at this time from all who knew her.
