Each man received a carnation boutoneir, in honor of Fathers Day, under the supervision of Fawn Smith. Blood pressures were taken by Nancy Hutchinson, Amy Shaw and with her accordian and Vern . Nadine OBriail, . during . the morning, with 39 members availing themselves of this courtesy. More lovely lilacs were presented to the group by Cleori Trujillo. A delicious dinner of turkey and dressing, whipped potatoes and gravy, gre.en .beans, .cottage cheese and tomato salad, apple pie and peanut butter balls was served to 52 members, and guests Mr. and Mrs. Harry Creager, sister of Owen roberts of Henefer, and Mrs. Thelma Hansen, and Tina Jones, little grandaughter of Ina . Jones. Following the .dinner, the Band members presented the musical entertainment in honor . o the Dads, which everyone enjoyed very much. In the absence of our regular pianist, Buelah Willoughby, due to illness, Nadine McQueen accompanied .the Band . on the piano and did a very' fine, to this evening of superb entertainment. A very beautiful bouquet of are,' Florence Moore, Mrs. William Shaw. A lovely creamy yellow rose of huge dimensions was .shown to the group by Ellen Robinson. These adorned the dinner tables. The past week our ever faithful quitters have been busy, and will have this beautiful quilt finished soon. The ladies doing the quilting mind-perha- ps: . 15. i These musical programs are appreciated by the Club members very much. We only wish more of the original Band members, were back with the group, as their participation with the Band has been greatly missed lately. As the Seniors resumed their games and other activities of the day, Nadine and Laura Roberts ' our spirits, Mosquitoes arc attracted to the color blue twice as much as any other color. BLUE BLOOD? The whole countryside is donning the foliage of summer, transforming the scenery into a sight of extreme beauty, for which, we as Gods children can certainly be thankful for. President Alton Ball announced that we were going to be celebrating the 70th birthday of Marvin Robinson today and asked Reed Moore, band director, to lead the group in singing Happy Birthday to Marvin, prior to the serving of dinner. Dinner menu today was, ham and scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, rolls and ice cream, and birthday cake, furnished by Marvins wife. Ranee. h Mary Marchant, our Worker, was our guest St dinner, and later addressed the group, announcing that food commodities would be distributed to needy families in the North Summit area, at the Courthouse on July 13, and requested some assistance from the .'.Seniors group in the distribution of these items. Several members volunteered for this duty. We always enjoy Marys visits so much. She is a boost to Km ssa rea looking forward Willoughby as vocalist held a little Impromptu practice, this added to our pleasure of the days special program. He told u we could figure out the years. Thursday June 14. A perfect day a drive ftp the Homestead in Iway and a delightful dinner in jarming surroundings. The ttlbles were attractively set and the super. Fruit cocktail, oven chicken; whipped potatoes gravy, tiify carrots, rolls, fruit inch and chocolate ice cream 'fpd ' 'd indaes. We did have a great time and thank Ivy Nielson for the hard work and worry she and the committee encountered. Lorraine Bagnell 50th Class Reunion Held The class of 1934 held its 50th class reunion June 14th at the North Summit Middle which was their High School. They were surprised to hear that no one respected the Indian Head that is implanted in the floor in the main hall. Everyone was welcomed by Gerald Gaik, then a program was presented. Musical numbers were provided by Mrs. Bessie Russell, Pat O'Driscoll, of Kamas and Ralph Garfield and Mont Winters class members. They sang the school song with most of them even remembering the words. Prizes were passed out to the ones who had traveled the farthest, least hair, least hair but most on top, most grandchildren. Following the short program, a tour of the school was given by Albert Stacey. Pictures were taken, then everyone went to the Kozy Cafe in Echo where a delicious dinner was enjoyed. Lots of memories were hashed over and the latest information of each one was caught up on. In charge of this special day were Gerald Gark, Mrs. Veda Brooks, Mrs. Lorene Boyer, and Mont Winters. Class members attending were Ruth Balis Young, Ross Blonquist, Lorraine B. Faddis, Lorene B. Boyer, Veda Fowler Brooks, Reed E. Brown, Vernal Chappell, Gerald Clark, Marie Grow Dansie, Glen J. Judd, DeVar (Sheep) Lamb, Ovena Richins Mayo. Frank W. Moore, Mary Petersen Nelson. Clarence E. Pace, Grace Blonquist Price, Lyle Rees, Lewis Richins, James H. Neeley, Russell Trone, Marv Ovard Wilde, Lloyd O' Wilde. Verl J. Wilde, Mont Winters, Margurite Wright, Dean Blonquist Zumbrunnen and Herman Edgel. Four teachers were present also: C.B. Copley, Arthur Bond, Viola and Clarence (Silky) Knudson. Twenty two class members have passed away and four members have been widowed. An enjoyable time was had by each and everyone. GMC Adult meeting at 7:00 p.m. for all members 18 years of age and older. Sunday morning, June 24th at 8:30 a.m. a Youth meeting is scheduled for all Mutual age youth. The General Session of Conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning. All members are encouraged to attend these sessions and to bring their friends and neighbors. Visitors are welcome. Kamas Stake Youth Conference 8 All youth ages are invited to participate in the super youth conference planned for this Friday and Saturday. June 22 and 23. June 22 Coalville Stake News - Today, Friday, June1 22nd is Coalville Utah's Stake Lagoon Day, and if you arent planning to be there, you're going to miss a great time. Perhaps it still isnt too late to attend Contact your Ward Activity Committee or Bishopric and get tickets. Stake Primary Olympics Day This past week each primary in the stake set aside a day and held their own Olympics where all the primary participated and really had a good time. The winners from each wardjvlp now compete against each other in a STAKE OLYMPICS DAY. The Olympics will be at thcHigh School starting at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, .June 26. The banners will be flying and musi6 playing as the top performers go against each other for first place. There will be all kinds of competition and fun for all. |
