Legion Auxiliary Chooses five from Lawndale, California to spend a week with them. Russ had come home for the funeral services of his father, Mr. Oscar Berg of Heber City. They returned home on Monday morning. The Gines other daughter Jolean Terry was also home over the weekend for a fun time of visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hardman had a very busy day Saturday and Sunday as they journeyed to Salt Lake to see two of their granddaughters baptized and confirmed. Mels and Kathys daughter, Suzanne was baptized in Holliday and American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 93 of Coalville, Utah is happy to announce the girls that they are sending to Girls State during this week, June 2 through June 8, 1974 at Cedar City. They are Robin DeWeese, Jo Judd, Rozella Richins, Sherri Snyder and Jill Frost. Girls State is a project in practical Americanism and Citizenship Training. The purpose is to educate our young women in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of American Citizenship. They will learn of the Fundamental principles of American Government actual practice and through control of the state officers during Girls State. There will be 336 girls here in Utah at Southern Utah State College participating at Girls state. The entire assemblage will become the mythical fifty -- first state. Our LeRoyE. Sheri Ann Snyder is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll W. Snyder of Coalville, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Knight journeyed to Manti last week to attend the golden wedding celebration of their old friends the Mickel-- 1 sons. They attended the reception and stayed overnight and returned home on the next day, enjoying the nice scenery and ride, and of course the good visit with their old friends and their family.
