Robinson has been selected as a speaker at Utah Girls State. Mrs. Robinson Is a former Girls Stater, graduate of John School of Robert Modeling, Utah State University and former stewardess with United Airlines. She is presently the StewMaxine Bishop, Powers ardess Training Instructor at Dixie College and win be conducting Personal Improvement Workshops during this summer for the Miss Washington County Queen contestants and the Bonneville - St. George Stake Youth Conference. Black Willow Team Splits On May 25 the Black Willow utnk Ranch softball team Lost to Continental Bank by a score of 13-- 4. The game was marred by many throwing and fielding errors. The bankers got only six hits but managed to put 13 runs across the (date. Frank Adkins hit a three-ru- n homer but that was not enough to make up for the errors committed. On June 1, the Black Willow team took command and defeated Carlson Kitchens by a score of 4. Kerry Pace hit a home run. The steady hitting of Rod Foust, Jerry Pace and Doug Toole helped In capturing the victory. Sam Lewis also turned in another fine pitching performance, and the Infield and outfield committed very few 14-- errors. The team is very grateful to John Bus Adkins who is sponsoring this team in the Salt Lake County Recreation League. The Uam would also like to thank Dill-r- ee Willard, Cora and Clinton of the Kory Cafe and Beth Calderwood for their donations to help bey balls and equipment for the team. All games are played at the East Millcreek Complex, 4300 South 13th East. - ( ' The Kamas Valley Livestock Show will be held June 12 and 13, 1970. All stockmen are invited to exhibit their stock and enjoy the program for the two days. On Friday, June 12, Beef, Dairy, Sheep and Swine will be Judged starting at 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. or as long as it takes to do the Judging. There will be a Livestock Scramble after the Judging. A fitting and showing contest will be held. On Saturday, June 13, horse judging and showing will be the program. Shirley Nielsen Wins Master's Mrs. Shirley Nielsen will receive a degree in Master of Education major in Secondary Education with a minor in English, at the U of U annual commencement, Saturday, June 6, for advanced degrees. Mrs. Nielsen received a BJS. Degree in Elementary Education from the U of U in 196L She has taught in the North Summit district for three years and returned to the University of Utah to obtain a Secondary certificate in English and speech. She taught the past seven years In the Morgan School District. Mrs. Nielsen is a member of Alpha Chi Omega, social fraternity; Morgan Education Association president and has been a member of foe UEA state Teacher Education and Professional Standards committee for the past two years. The Crandalls covered 15,000 miles in 15 days. Most interesting was foe Vatican City which impressed them very much. The water in Spain is very good in contrast with the water In Mexico. The people of Spain and Rome lock their stores and go home for a nice siesta and foe Crandalls found them to be very pleasant people. Prices are high In Rome and a pack of cigarettes cost 80 cents and some hotels charge $60 for two rooms a day. The Crandalls have woo other trips, Hawaii twice, Acapulco, Mexico. Diplomas were awarded by president of the school board, Harvey E. Pace. Benediction was by Kyle Stephens and accompanist was Mrs. Pace. Jerald L. Fawcett and Roy B. Moore are among the graduate students receiving advanced degrees at the University of Utahs 101st annual commencement which will be held June 5 at the Special Events Lightning Hits Shenie Hayden, Killing Horse Bill Judd lost two horses and a lamb, and Sherrie Hayden nearly lost her life when lightening struck, killing the horse and lamb she was carrying, at west Chalk Creek about a week ago Sunday. Sherrie was thrown off the horse which was killed, carrying her and the lamb. Site escaped with some minor burns on her neck, stomach and legs. She was very shaken over the whole experience. Her husband Reese, believed her to be dead. He Is mighty happy the incident wasnt fatal. Lightening struck again about the same place a day or so later, taking the life of a second of Bill's horses. Who said lightening doesnt same place twice? strike the Summit Stake LDS Tabernacle Will Be Part of Promotion Film The Summit Stake Tabernacle has been chosen as one of a series of focal points for a film being made by foe Industrial Promotional Services. Movies were taken Monday morning by Chuck East and Douglas Hill for the Promotional Services. These pictures will be used, along with others of historical points within the state, for pro motion of industry and tourism. The Industrial and Tourist Promotional Services, under the direction of Milt Wellenman will release this film for use whenever promotion Is needed. The Stake Tabernacle, one of Summit Countys top points of historical interest, has also been selected by the Utah State Historical Society and foe National Historical Society, for registry. They were both born In Salt Lake about 35 years ago and resided in California for twenty five years. Bob has been teaching high school math In a Garden Grove High School for the past nine years. Ron has been managing an auto dealer service department in Fullerton, California for foe past three years. Jerald received a BS in Mathematics from Utah State University In 1958 and Is a 1954 graduate from North Summit Mr. Fawcett Is presentty employed as a Systems Programmer at Hercules Inc. 24 at North 2 from Doctorate Degree. He is married to foe former Lorna Bagley of Salt Lake City and they are the parents of two children. received a BS in Economics from foe University of Utah in 1966 and Is a 1958 graduate of North Summit High School. While attending the U of U he was associated with the Delta Pal Kappa as an officer. He also served as a Hinckley Legislative Intern for the Utah State Senate In 1969, was a member of foe Utah Law Forum Board and received a book award, Trusts and Roy under-gradu- ate Estates. He plans to associate with foe law firm of Parsons, Behle and Latimer in Salt Lake City. The commencement speaker will be Earl Warren, retired Chief Justice of the UnltedSup-rem- e Court. On May 19 foe three lower grades from the school, kindergarten, first and second grades with teachers and parents as chaperones, spent the day in Summit County visiting and meeting some unusual animals.
