Stevens, of Provo, formerly of Henefer and Morgan, wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Reta, to Dennis L. Wheeler, son of Mrs. June J. Wheeler, of Heber City. They are both graduates of Wasatch High School. Miss Stevens Is a graduate of Snow College where she received her Associate of Science degree and Is also a graduate of the Institute of Religion at Snow College. Mr. Wheeler has served on an LDS mission to Ireland and is now attending BYU. They are planning an August wedding In the Salt Lake Temple. HENEFER Mrs. Lydie Paskett observed her 87th.birthday at her home in Henefer Saturday. Mrs. Josephine Waddoups arrived, ac- companied by "Aunt Josephine Handley and "Aunt Jessie Malan and they all enjoyed lunch together along with Lydias hus- -i band Curtis. She received calls and best wishes from many friends and neighbors. - Mrs. Ovena Mayo of Pasa-den- a, California is visiting in Henefer at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Richins. Blaine Dearden left Sunday for two weeks training in the Army Reserves atDugway, Utah. Wilma and 'Swede Morris and Patti of Evanston, Wyo. visited in Henefer Friday at the homes of Barbara and Jimmie Brooks and Sharlene and Doug Jones, before leaving early Saturday morning for North Carolina, where they will visit with Wilmas son Ronnie and Mable Neel, Tony and Mia. They expect to be gone about two weeks and plan to stop along the way to say hello to Harl and Vera Wright Pemberton. Miss Jerrelene Hicken of Rexsburg, Idaho, is enjoying a visit at the home of her gradn-vls- lt at the home of her grandparents, Gladys and LaVerne Bearden. Mrs. Rachel Wright and Mrs. Maxine Wright were shoppers in Ogden Wednesday. Weekend visitors at the home of Os and Rachel Wright were Vern and Marcia Wright and Verl Wright of Salt Lake. A Rlchins reunion was held Saturday at the Roy City Park and was very well attended by Henefer people. Among those attending was Mrs. Lorraine Chappell of Coalville who had a scare as she neared her home upon returning. Her young daughter, Elva Marie, fell from the moving car. Luckily they werent traveling too fast but the fall resulted in scrapes, bumps and bruises. Thursday evening Scott and Marie Rlchins, Kent and Leah Nichols, Everett and LaNae Ovard enjoyed a supper on the bwn at the Blain Moore home as guests of Roy and Lorna Moore before they returned Saturday to their home in Califfriends ornia. The long-tienjoyed playing volleyball and when one of the periodical showers arrived that we are getting use to these days, they enjoyed visiting Indoors. Howard and LuGene Jones and family returned Saturday after a few cool, wet days fishing at Flaming Gorge. Visitors in Henefer this past week have been Mrs. Laura Rlchins and Ralph and Nellie Rlchins of Grldley, California. They attended the Rlchins reunion in Roy Saturday and Sunday afternoon they, along with descendants of the Arthur Rich- - ins family, met at the home of Delbert and Eillene Rlchins. Others present Included Milton and Viola Rlchins of Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rlchins, Mrs. Clare Rlchins and two boys, Mrs. Amy Rlchins, L.A. and Lenors Francis of Salt Lake Harold and Lottie Rlchins and Alvin Rlchins of Henefer, Mrs. Margaret Rlchins an 1 her family Mrs. Etna Weston, Bountiful, Mrs. Verda Rees, Salt Lake, Lee and Lucille Rlchins, Kays-vill- e; Arthur and Thelma Rlchins, Orem; Roy and Haxel Rlchins and Kurt, Orem and Ross and Judy Rlchins, Salt Lake. Glen and Pearl Rlchins dropped in later in the afternoon for a brief visit. Rulon Richins returned home Tuesday by plane after visiting since school let out at Mt. Clements, Michigan, at the home of his sister, RaNae and Eldon Robinson and children. MISSIONARIES HENEFER- - The 'whereabouts and happenings of the Elders in the mission field from Henefer Ward are many. Elder Leland Foster, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Foster has recently been transferred to Rodex, France. Rodex has a population of about 25,000 and there has never been an LDS church there. It is Elder Fosters responsibility, along with his companions, to tract the town and if they find an area where the people seem interested in learning more about the gospel they send word back to the mission home and missionaries will be sent into the area. All of Lelands mail is sent to the mission home in Geneva, Switxerland, since they remain in one place for only about one week. Prior to this assign-me- at Elder Foster served as Branch President for five and a half months. Elder James Paskett soft of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Paskett and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis has Just been transferred to Sioux City, Iowa after laboring in Kearney, Nebraska. While in Nebraska he met a number of people who knew Mrs. Marguerite Paskett when she labored there while serving Western States mission several years ago. Elder Paskett re ports that he is well and is busy tracting, by foot, and he had a baptism last week. Elder Jay D. Ovard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug 0 vard if busy again after his recent confinement in the hospital where he was very ill. He has been serving as Zone Leader in the Alberta District. This district was recently divided, and he is now Zone Leader of the Southern end and is living at Cards ton, Alberts Canada. Last week he took some missionaries down into Mem tana to labor with the Lam unites. Eldar Fawcett and his companion live at the Elmwood bra which is a landmark in early history having been built in 1783. They live on the third floor, wash and bathe on the second floor, and cook on the first floor, which, as you can imagine, proves to be quite interesting. TO WED Mr. and Mrs. VeranT. Moore announce the approaching marriage of their daughter Margaret to Mr. Leonard Ren Lester, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonanl Lester of Hilliard, Wait a Wyoming. The bride to be is a graduate of North Summit High School with the class o! 67. An active member in school she was vice president of the senior class; member of the pep club and the drill team. She was chosen to go to Girls State by the Coalville Legion Auxiliary. Margaret Rodeo Queen cm deal? Kennecott come Each Sunday night Lane and his companion go into Billings where they stay at the home of the former Donna Gustaveson, now Bryson, and her husband. They do their wash there and are really made welcome in their home. They recently went on a campout with the Elders from Billings and someyoungpeople. When they returned some of the young kids had let all the air out of their tires, so they had to take them off one at a time and take them to a station to be fixed. This mission is also receiving a new mission President with the release of Grant R. Farmer who is being replaced by Harvey A. Dahl. The latest missionary to enter the mission field from Henefer Is, Elder Allen Jones son of Howard and LuGene Jones. He and his companion, who is from St. George, had a disappointing experience to start Allens mission off, when diey had a family ready for baptism and all arrangements made only to receive a call to tell them to call if all off. At church Sunday evening awards were presented to the boys and girls who bad achieved during 1966 by Bishop Paskett assisted by Douglas Ovard and Delbert Richins. Thats the description that best fits students who are working this year under Kennecotts approximately 240 annual summer employment program. Many of them just recently received their high school diplomas, and are working to obtain money to help them enter universities or colleges this fall. For others who showed outstanding qualities in their work last year, it will be another opportunity this summer to obtain financial assistance as well as practical experience in helping them obtain a college degree. In this years Utah Copper Division class, there are about 165 production and maintenance workers, 40 others who will work in technical or engineering Kennecott Copper 1 wHh " Coalville City Park ENTERTAINMENT MOW 4 Elder Jones is in Richmond, Indiana which is a towu of about 44,000 population and is an hour and a half drive from Indianapolis. Allen attended one of the trial runnings for the 'Indianapolis 500 race on Memorial Day. He is jvell and enjoying his work. EMPLOYMENT CORPORATION PREFERRED MtliNT Elder Lane Fawcett, son of Joa and Mary Fawcett, has Just been transferred to Pryor, Montana where he will be laboring among the Crow Indians after being with the Cheyenne Indians in Busby, Montana. Elder Fawcetts companion Isa nephew of Mrs. Beth Richins of Coalville. tonne Mata Oinewn positions, and six trainees assigned to specialized occupations. At the Kennecott Research Center on the University of Utah campus, there are 32 summer positions ranging from laboratory aides to engineers and scientists. Of the latter, several are engaged in work related to their dissertations or other requirements for doctorate degrees. From Kennecotts point of view, summer employment provides an excellent opportunity for students to look at the company, and for the company to look at them.
