This is your friendly High School writing once again. This past week has been like all the proceeding ones, full of the usual activities with a couple of assemblies stuck in. Thursday Weber State College presented a very great assembly. Friday an assembly was presented to the student body from Ricks College which was very exceptional. This week the NJ5. FFA chapter held their annual Sweetheart contest, eleventh through the fifteenth. The contestants are Peggy Curtis, Dixie Fawcett, Melanie Simister, Marva Ovard. Mosher and Lodell Giles and Denise Hobson. The schedule of events went as follows: on the Uth a chicken chase was held On the 12th the girls were found judging sheep and chickens. On the 14th farm-style- d cakes were turned in to officers of FFA. Feb. 15, the contestants held a tea party at which they wore western-sty- le dress. Also on that day the cake auction was held after which the contestants competed in their formals. The Queen and her contestants were crowned that night at the Freshman Fling. Results of activities and winners will be given next week. After the South Rich game this week the Freshmen wHl hold their dance. Theme this year will be "Seasons In the Sun." A live rock group, "Shadow Fox will furnish the music. A black and white portable TV will be given away. Results also next week. We now move into tne scene of sportsl Last week the mighty NJ5. basketball team traveled to North Rich. The Braves won both the JV and Varsity games. Score of the Junior Bennett won the pin; Roath won decision; Moore won pin; G. Rees won by decision; R. Robinson won by decision; M. Jones also won by dec. and B. Chappel tied with Atkinson SS.; S. Crittenden decision, L. Dale lost decision and G. Richins by won pin. A. Staley also won pin. Paskett lost by pin. Congratulations team and good luck in the upcoming State Tournament at Mont-icell- o, won Feb. 22 and 23. This past week the Braves traveled to S JS. to compete in the Region tournament. Results in next weeks Bee. Next week the basketball team will play against Morgan on Wednesday which will begin at 8:00 there and on Wednesday Juab wiU be here to play at 3:15 JV and 5:00 varsity.
