Mary hadn't had her wheels balanced since she took her snowtires off, so the car shimmied and shook when they tried to go more than 70 mph. When they hit Las VegasSat-urda- y morning, they stopped to see Ray Lehmer's mother, but she was in the hospital. They drove into an EncoStation to gas up and got the wheels balanced, but were told there was no way the mechanics could get the wheels balanced. Mary handed her credit card to the attendant for the gas charges, when he asked the license plate number and Mary said, EK 2100 Utah the attendant asked what part of Utah they were from. Mary answered Salt Lake and then fortunately added, Park City. The attendant said, I just came from there. Do you know Nell Thompson? Mary answered You bet I do! And her sister Jim. While there, the ParkCityites were the house guests of the well-wishin- parents of Thursday, July 20, 1972 Charlie Brown Moore of the New Park Hotel at their lovely home in Pasadena. MARY WISHED Ros Grose had been there to thrill at the beautiful antique furniture the Moores have their home furnished with. Charlies mother celebrated the 4th of July at the bridge tournament by winning enough master bridge points that day to go the top and become a Life Master of bridge. Charlies brother, Bob, is getting married August 10 and the family is anxiously awaiting Charlies coming down to be best man at the wedding. Jay looked up her brother, Tom McBride, who is attending law school and is being married in Oregon, August 19. While Jay spent a day visiting and golfing with Tom and a younger brother, Mary and John drove to L.A. and looked up Joe Pumphrey, Park Citys former artist in residence. FORTUNATELY THEY found Joe at home. He spends most of his time in Baja, where he has now bought a 75 acre ranch with five springs of water and an old house that Joe is about to refurbish. He hopes to move the family to San Diego so he wont have to travel so far from Baja to visit with his family. Frances is with Headstart working with underpriviliged Mexican children but plans to go back to college this fall to complete her final year needed for her degree. Lamihia and Carlos are attending summer school and Pepe is employed in the computer department of Security Commercial Bank. Alma is also attending college and will soon have her degree in Interior Design. Joes father will soon be 90 but is still ambulatory. He gets up by himself every morning, showers, puts on clean clothes, has breakfast then takes a siesta for an hour or two! He is truly amazing. Everyone is happy, healthy and busy.
