Show Horse Program Offers Youth Opportunity for Health and Pride H of 4 feet in one season, and J. Reed Moore USU Extension Agent As a parent of a horse owner or potential horse owner the questions of how to care for the horse, how to teach the child to ride, and safety precautions are probably uppermost in your mind. There are books written on these subjects, but how many really go to the bother of studying them and teaching these young riders? Another way to approach this problem is by enrolling these youths in the H horse program. Under the H horse program a member can gain advancement from Tenderfoot to Master Horseman by studying, practicing, and participating in horse shows and activities.. Leaders assist in teaching safety, horse management and riding plus other important subjects.
