Beet WAXING By Mary Bee Elizabeth Lambson, IN CASE YCU DONT live here any more and cried yourself awake Saturday morning because you couldnt go fishing in Summit or Morgan Counties . . . relax. The chances are you wouldnt have caught anything. Waters were too high almost ' everywhere. There were a few fish in the headwaters, like Hardscrabble and Lost Creek (good neighbor Ab Wright brought us some dandy natives they caught in Lost Creek) but the river and the lakes were putting out pretty much blanks, compared to the usual opener. East Canyon reservoir was mobbed with people, and there almost was no place to park. Trailers, campers, tents, cars were everywhere . . . even the banks were covered with people in chairs. And the fishing was not very good anywhere. Echo is about to spill. Rock-po- rt is filling rapidly. East Canyon is already full, as noted here last week. When all the lakes are full and that big snow ff really begins, water will be going to waste. , " WE SPENT the week end in Park City, and again were amazed at the wonderful people one meets in places like Bill Blonquists Silver King Motel. run-o- The Silver King, incidentally, is going great guns, and Mr. and Mrs. Blonqulst are the happy and very busy hosts. One of the most fun games of golf I ever played was with Faye Dearden and Dude Lindsay Needless to say, they beat me good, but they make you like it. Dude has clubs left-hand- ed the likes of which I never heard of-- his woods are No. 2 12 and No. 3 12. 1 thought he was kidding, but there they are. A fellow had them made to order, didnt pick them up, and they are Just right for Mr. Lindsay. Since Im always at least half a club off, maybe I better trade mine in-- and I'd Just as well go while Im at it. Yes yes yes, we saw Shirty guests of at the Cest Bon, the new management, a trio of young fellers who with Manager Jack Himes, will keep the popular spot Jumping. Shirty is lovely ever, and 1 Insist her back is adorable. (MLF thinks she stays in that sheath too long. She has apparently forgotten that anticipation is even better than realization.) Only one thing wrong with me and Park City. I cant sleep. Maybe its the altitude, but more likely its because Pm afraid Ill miss something wonderful in the morning. See you left-hand- u u around?-M- ac. The clerk wasnt too upset, and calmly told them to go ahead and shoot her. The two shaggy looking robbers continued their threats, waving the guns around while they spoke. During this time Elizabeth and Shawna Just stood there watching, while the guns were hieing waved in their direction. Elizabeth later told her parents it was pointing right at her part of the time. The clerk kept her calm, the police arrived and the robbers escaped out a side door. As far as we know, they werent caught and Elizabeth and Shawna have an exciting story to tell their friends. They were pale and shaken after the incident, but could give their parents apt description of the bandits and probably didnt realize the danger they were in. Several people have asked me what happened to my hippie, so I decided to let you know what dear old Charlie Brown has been up to. A couple of weeks ago he asked the Salt Lake City Commission for permission to hold a love-i- n in Liberty Park. They gave him the permission. Ive decided Liberty Park is a good place to stay away from. Then he and quite a few of his followers decided to hold a love-i- n in one of the canyons. They got permission from the Forest Service, claiming it was a religious service. Only the police set iq) a road Mock and among those arrested was . . . weeks ago and there was Charlie Brown, knitting a sweater for one of the officers! I'm glad he is there and not R.
