Show FIRST SECURITY SCHOLARSHIPS WORTH $10,090 Harold J. Steele of Salt Lake and senior vice president of First Secuirty Bank, of Utah, N. A., said trustees of the First Security Foundation have appropriated $10,-000 $10,-000 for scholarships and library grants at ten colleges and universities uni-versities in Utah and Idaho and for support of the 4-H and Future Farmers of America. C. G. (Neal) White and B. W. Vincent are assistant vice presidents presi-dents in charge of First Security's Sugar House bank. Steele added this is the second year the foundation has provided the scholarships and grants. The foundation was established by the First Secuirty Bank of Utah, N.A., and First Secuirty Bank of Idaho, N.A., to promote and support educational, ed-ucational, scientific, religious and charitable enterprises. George S. Eccles is foundation president. Scholarships and grants totaling $8,400 have been contributed to the following schools: University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Univer-sity, Utah State Agricultural College, Col-lege, Weber College, University of Idaho, Idaho State College, Ricks College Boise Junior College, Col-lege, Northwest Nazarene College and College of Idaho. Steele said that the appropriation appropria-tion of $1600 for 4-H and Future Farmers will be distributed in the form of both individual and unit awards.for the encouragement of those programs in Idaho and Utah. "Through these scholarships and grants, we aim to encourage both character and achievement among the young people of this in-termountain in-termountain area, which is growing grow-ing so fast and which holds so much promise for the future," Mr Eccles said. |
