OFFICERS ARE ELECTED Election of officers of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce was at completed Wednesday evening a meeting of the board of directors at the office of the First National Bank in Sugarhouse and placed Sidney J. Ottley as president of the group. Jack Holm strom vicepresid-en- t and R. Louise Hoggan, secretary. Directors will be Clinton Strong, and Lincoln Hansen, Scott Linnell Alton C. Melville. Directors meetings will be held the first Friday in each month to proceed the monthly meeting of the group which la held each Second Wednesday In the month. Mr. Ottley is manager of the Paint Pot in Sugarhouse and has been in the district for the past five years. Mr. Holmstrom is assistant cashier of the local bank. Mrs. Hoggan is an assistant at the Sugar House Coal Company; Clinton Strong is associated with the Highland Lumber Company; Mr. Hansen is manager of the Sugar Bowl and Mr. Linnell assistant at the Peerless Laundry and Mr. Melville is a local attorney. Plana for the coming year were not discussed at the meeting Wednesday evening except with reference to membership and it was determined that a membership drive would be the first order of business, of the new group of officers. WILSON TO ADDRESS MASS MEETING OCT. 22 Amateur agricultural authorities, who have been stumping the state for weeks, will give an acknowledged expert Saturday, October 22, when Miibum L. Wilson, understudy of Agriculture for the federal government details the national farm program at a huge mass meeting in the Midvale Junior High school. The meeting is scheduled for 8 p. m. Mr. Wilson is second only to Secretary Wallace as an authority on national farm prolema. For six years he has been a key man in the Roosevelt administration farm program, and on Saturday will explain that program and dispel fallacies regarding it which have been offered to Utah farmers. Word of Mr. Wilson's visit to Utah was received by Calvin W. Rawlins, Democratic chairman. The secretary will stay In Utah three days and will give one more talk In the state after the Midvale program. The mass meeting in Midvale will give county residents outside of Suit High Team, S. E. Bowling League Lake City their first opportunity to meet tin Salt Lake County officials all except two of whom are candion November dates for 8. The county administration is particularly interested in the visit of adMr. Wilson, since the present min stration is the first in the history of the county which has concerned itself with agricultural problems. It has outlined and provided a soil conservation program in Salt ' Lake County. The county campaign swung into full force during the last week when Salt Lake Democrats began an extensive program of rallies and "cottage" meetings throughout the section. The first week was devoted to Salt Lake City wards, but during the next week will move into county precincts. The meetings are attended by all county candidates, as well as the legislative aspirants.
