Show On Friday, the 21st of February, 1896, I just called, on a friendly visit, at Rufus C. Allen's in the Second Ward, St. George, and was just in time to see the following five Mormon Battalion men, with their wives, H. W. Bigler, David Moss, Samuel Miles, Zadock Judd, Rufus C. Allen, also the two widows of the late William H. Carpenter, who was also a Mormon Mor-mon Battalion man, also President McArthur and first Counselor, David H. Cannon and a number of the High Council, and Bishop George F. Jarvis, and a number of t)ther invited friends, make a desperate des-perate charge! Did you say what on? why on a lot of harmless, fat yellow legged chickens and a good share of other good things, and they did not forget the good old time Plum Pudding. They went there for a good time and they surely sur-ely had it and they were not on short rations, either. They had lots of good things to talk about and they are of the class that still have the love of the gospel in their hearts too, and may God bless and preserve them long upon the earth to have many such happy days.
