Show Our District Schools are drawing near their close and parents will soon, have the opportunity of having their Children at home. But will the Children be left with idle hands and minds, during the Summer vacation? We think they ought not but that parents would do well to see that their Children should have certain lessons each day, and not allow them to forget nearly or all they have learned during the winter. See that the home is supplied with useful and instructive reading matter, newspapers, news-papers, books, &c, and by all means have your home paper among the collections, and get the children interested in reading these papers and books, and after they have once become interested, they will continue con-tinue to be, and thereby improve upon what they learned at school, for the continual reading aids mem-lory mem-lory and improves the mind, so that it almost becomes second nature, and the child will then not forget what was learned at school. |
