Show I From our regular Correspondent. Springdale, Utah, March 10, 18S3. Ed. Union & Echo: Dear friend ; We are enjoying en-joying the best of health in our town, and I believe be-lieve the same blessing is realized throughout the llockvillc Ward; We are having very fine weath er. . Apricots arc beginning to expand their blossoms blos-soms and the prospects for fruit this season, arc good, if the fros.t king docs not interfere. We had quite an enjoyable time on Monday, 5th inst. The Sisters who had been holding their Stake Conferences o the Female Relief Society, ' Y. L.. M. I. nod Primary Associations, at Virgen Citv, the day previous.. met with the several Associations As-sociations in Rockville at the above date, and save some good instructions' at their different meetings, " j and all were much pleased with the presence of the roV.e Mothers in Israel, arid to receive 'their kind and motherly -coimcils. And what fetill gave double joy and satisfaction to the good people of the'Ward was. the presence of Prcst. Erastus Snow, Judge Macfarlane, and Bishop lIunt,(from Snow Flake) who held meeting in the evening. There was a general attendance from all parts ot the Ward excepting Shpnesbutg; The first speaker speak-er was Judge J. M. Aracforlane who made many good remarks upon the principles of the Kingdom of God, and the duties of the Saints. The speaker speak-er urged the necessity of having contented minds and feel that ye are where the Lord wants us to be, and not .feel that we are so independent in and of ourselves that we feel it quite unnecessary to council with or take the council of those who I have been placed to lead the ilock.: Bishop Hunt ! jravo a very interesting account of his two years stay among the Navajoes ; said they had been dealt treacherously with by the whites and had ' cn,rht revenirc until the very name of Navajoc sought revenge unui me vuxy iuv ' j became a terror to all, for fear they were going to be killed, or their prwpery about to be stolen. But the Nav.ijoes arc a good people, for soon as they learned that we were their friends, they reciprocated recipro-cated that friendship to its fullest extent, proving the truth of the old saying, that "a friend in need is a "friend indeed," for. whjle the . brethren were ' in their country and were sick with the small pox, and were refused any 'aid whatever by.lhe whites, who would not even allow them' to sent! to. the Military Post for a little medicine, the Navajoes flJ done all they could to make them comfortable. 1 They brought meat to them when thy had to jH wade through snow to the horses bellies; and, H through the kindness of the Natives and the blusa- jf ings of God, they were preserved in life. The J speaker said that he was. satisfied that if th Saints would observe those KeTelations that God H has given for the benefit of His Saints, and not H eat the ilesh of swine, there heed be but little far H with regard to the small pox. Brother Hunt said the Saints need not think by going; to AriKOiia HH tliey would find a better country than 'Utah'; that some of the roads were actually Wor5 than the. H Black Ridge was before the road was made. Prcat. Snow endorsed all that had been said by ll i Bishop Hunt, with regard to Arizona, small pox, H etc. He was pleased to niect'with' hia 'brsthrwa who had spoken before him, and had been edified H " by their instructions. He thought it wourd bu wisdom for all who lvd not already done so, to bo E vaccinated when they could get the right kind of Ml matter and a skillful hand to administer it. . WM Urged the necessity of obeying: the Word of - Wisdom. Spoke witlr gresit interest upon the -.jM fulfilment of the promises of God io His- people. JH Showed how men' who Had taken the lead 111 lay- VjH ing plans for the destruction of the Saints, tavo withered, and almost sunk into' oblivion rand said . M all who fight againstZion will go the same road, f Lfl Senator Edmunds not excepted. Spoke with umch TM warmth against the bitd use of intoxicating drinks, I JH by Latter-day Saints. They should be dc;alt with for their fellowship,, and should -not be allowed in M any of the associations of tle Suinta, not even JM in the social dance, for the dance is a rccreatioa that is exclusively for those whp love God and 'Wk keep His .Commandments, and we-shpuld always .
