Show Sun il.iy Services. At H. George TaDernaclj. Sunday, September 20, 1896. Bishop James Andrus presiding. Elder David H. Morris read part of section 6 of the Doctrine and Covenants and compared the great men who have been conquering heroes he-roes and great men of invention with men who have had opportunities to learn in spiritual matters and to learn the ways of the Lord and showed show-ed that in this our own day God has raised up men to establish his great plan of salvation upon the earth for the benefit of all his children of ev-very ev-very land and clime, who will bow down and worship him in his own appointed way. We who have heard this gospel and accepted it have opportunities to become great in the service of God, and we should so live that' we will' be honored instruments in-struments in the hands of the Lord in spreading the truths of the gospel wherever we go. - Gave good instruction in-struction to young men and advised them to make themselves useful. Elder Neil Sandberg corroborated the remarks of the previous speaker, and knew with regret that many of the young men among us are not living up to the privileges that is afforded af-forded them, as we have the same gospel preached to us that Jesus and his apostles tangdt in those days, and they have been revealed from heaven in this our day to the prophet proph-et Joseph. Elder Charles Smith also bore testimony tes-timony that this gospel had been revealed re-vealed by an angel from heaven to man on the earth in this our day, and advised the people to live up to privileges that we enjoy. |
