Mr. Otto Packard and Miss Lucy Clyde skipped off' very quietly, Tues-(I Tues-(I y, to Silt Lake and were married: returning Wednesday evening to a splendid reception. The first in order was the dinner, which was enjoyed by a nost of friends and relat ivts The many gay toasts given occasioned peals of laughter. The after part of the evening was spent in songs, recitations, and specchs; not to forget the pleasant chit chat enjoyed by all. All who were present at the Lean tear nan were certainly very iortuii ate; and the factof being present with uch a brilliant and happy throng, will be a pleasant thing to think for a long time to come. But a few geutlemen and ladies were doubly lortunaie, ior -aiier tne oali was over," they enjoyed Mrs. Thompson' hospitality. This lady's luncheons and teas are simply delightful, and on this occasion the dishes seemed more delicate and lucious than ever. The tables were decorated with smilax and carnations. The party intended returning re-turning to the ball for anot her dance, but so quickly and pleasantly did. the time pass, that, when they parted with the hostess they found the dancers gone and the hall in darkness. Two years ago Mr. J. 6. Wing discovered, dis-covered, surveyed and located a mineral min-eral prospect just northeast of Springville, Spring-ville, after which he left it to the mercy of wind, weather and other prospectors. Two or three months since Messrs. Caffrey & Davis made a coal location on the same property and left a man in charcm . Copsideji-i mire neveiopiiieui woi n was none ;uiw great care taken to maintain the.i claim, but last Tuesday their man r laxed his vigilance long enough for' Wing, the original locator of t lie gold claim to quietly re-enter possession since which time he has still held on An amicable settlement is more than likely to be had and development work proceeded with on a much larger scale. The Leap Year ball was t he socia event of the season and certainly reflects re-flects great credit on the enterprising enterpris-ing promoters who worked assiduously assiduous-ly to this end. The hall was beautifully beauti-fully decorated with white hunting, and lace curtains, with mirrors occupying occu-pying every available space on the walls. The members of the committee commit-tee were tastefully attired in their famous Grecian costumes and made one believe they were in fairyland tin-contrast tin-contrast with the brilliant cost umes of the visitors being very pleasing. There were, about 1U numbers sold enough to give every gentleman present a partner at least once, during the evening, The Indies of the committee com-mittee looked carefully after everyone's every-one's welfare. All present join in pronouncing the Leap Year ball the best of the season. ; H-tD . ! pi PUP!
